I have a hard time ever finding ESPN Deportes numbers regularly. Am I wrong in assuming ~500k would be a very big number for them on a weekday afternoon?
I'm not quite sure how many homes get ESPN Deportes. Real Madrid drew 297k on Fox Deportes against Roma, who's not the TV draw Arsenal is, so it's probably not unrealistic to predict a higher # for Barcelona-Arsenal on ESPN Deportes.
Here's the full breakdown of the CCL Ratings from last night: Seattle Sounders/Club America: FS1 (173K), UDN (516K) Queretaro/D.C. United: FS1 (93K), UDN (192K) SOURCE: http://sportstvratings.com/michigan...tv-ratings-for-tuesday-february-23-2016/4585/
Isn't that pretty decent compared to what's normally on in those time slots? I read that Fox Sports Live is doing pretty bad.
Updated CONCACAF CL ratings: 2/23 Queretaro/DC United - 93k on FS1 (+192k on UDN) = 285k total 2/24 Sounders/America - 173k on FS1 (+516k on UDN) = 689k total 2/24 Galaxy/Santos - 141k on FS1 (+337k on UDN) = 478k total 2/24 Tigres/RSL - 23k on FS2 (+252k on UDN) = 275k total http://sportstvratings.com/spurs-ki...-ratings-for-wednesday-february-24-2016/4590/ If it weren't the final week of college basketball's regular season, I could see next week's second-leg CCL matches being on FS1 instead of FS2. Most Big East games in that Tuesday/Wednesday timeslot draw less than the Galaxy-Santos and Sounders-America matches on FS1.
CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal TV ratings: 2/23 Queretaro/DC United: 93k (FS1) +192 (UDN) = 285k total 2/23 Sounders/America: 173k (FS1) +516k (UDN) = 689k total 2/24 Tigres/ Real Salt Lake: 23k (FS2) + 252k (UDN) = 275k total 2/24 LA Galaxy/Santos: 141k on FS1 + 337k (UDN) = 478k total 3/1 DC United/Queretaro: 23k (FS2) + 279k (UDN) = 302k total 3/1 Santos/LA Galaxy: 21k (FS2) + 353k (Galavision) = 374k total 3/2 America/Sounders: 42k (FS2) + 546k (UDN) = 588k total 3/2 Real Salt Lake/Tigres: 26k (FS2) + 342k (Galavision) = 368k total http://sportstvratings.com/thunder-...s-tv-ratings-for-wednesday-march-2-2016/4623/ We can only wonder what a Galaxy/America semifinal would draw. College basketball regular season is just about done, but I'd be surprised if any of the remaining CCL matches get placed on FS1 with no MLS teams left in the competition.

MLS 2016 Regular Season TV Viewership Summary Home teams listed first. All times are Eastern. Averages are only listed if we have compiled all the games for a specific network. FS1 (all ratings for 2.5 hour window unless specified) Game 1: 267k (SEA vs KC) Sunday 7:00pm 3/6/2016 ESPN2 (all ratings for 2.5 hour window unless specified) Game 1: 362k (POR vs COLU) Sunday 4:00pm 3/6/2016
For the sake of a year-to-year comparison: (1) FS1 drew an average of 197k last year and the opening weekend MLS match drew 268k. So the Sounders/Sporting KC game this year (267k) was well above the FS1 average last year and drew 1k fewer viewers than the most comparable match last year. (2) ESPN drew an average of 339k last year, but the opening weekend MLS match was actually on ESPN2 last year ( and drew a 539k). So while there's no like-for-like comparison available, the 362k that Portland/Columbus drew beat the ESPN average but fell well short of the opening match number that Orlando-NYCFC drew last year.
Last year's opener had the buzz of two expansion teams with big name players making their MLS debuts. We saw during last season's MLS Cup Final that POR-CLB is just not a casual-friendly matchup.
Agreed. It's an essentially meaningless difference. Also, we got a couple of other relevant numbers from the full Sunday data. (1) The Seattle v SKC game drew an additional 24k on Fox Deportes. (2) The LA v DC game drew 148k on UDN. Note: This game was simulcast on UniMás, but those numbers are usually made available through our usual channels. (3) There's also an 18-49 column in the full data too. If we want to track that this year, it'll likely be available on this site throughout the season.
