Not surprising that he couldn't catch on with the Red Bulls. Does anyone know what his situation was with the Cosmos? That seems like a much better fit for his talent level.
Yes!!! I've hated those dirty-rotten bastards since 1992. Signed, Kentucky Alumnus Oh wait........Wrong sport........Nah, the hatred still applies to anything Duke related.
Mike Grella is now on trial at Danish Superliga side Viborg FF : http://www.bold.dk/nyt/Amerikansk-angriber-proever-lykken-i-Viborg .
Grella played in a reserve match for Viborg and showed well: http://www.vff.dk/sportsnyheder/68/7326-sidste-minuts-nederlag-til-fcm
Mike just signed for Viborg FF in Denmark http://www.vff.dk/sportsnyheder/68-news/2013/7335-mike-grella-på-kontrakt-resten-af-året-i-vff
Mike is a skillful player. It just never worked out for him in England. His lack of speed and lack of a killer instinct in front of goal doomed him. This is a great signing for him. Viborg currently sit 4th in the Danish SAS-Ligaen.
The SAS-Liga is no more.... the past few years 'Superliga' has been the official brand and trade name of the Danish league, and so it will also be in the future no matter the name of their sponsors... in fact the Superliga now has 4 main sponsors, while they only had SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) as their sponsor back then. ... but now I'll make a break for the former Superliga sponsor SAS, simply because they actually do make some nice advertising worth watching Tom kristensen (only driver to win the prestigious '24 hours of Le Mans' 9 times ) Much praised (in Europe) Aarhus Singer-songwriter Tina Dico : Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (aka Jaime Lannister ) : .
I know they're doing really well right now, but Viborg was just promoted this year and have spent the majority of their existence in the 2nd and 3rd divisions. Still, it'd be great to see Mike and Jide both feature there and qualify for Europe.
Grella came off the bench and played 14 minutes for Viborg as they broke their 3 match losing streak in a 2-2 draw vs. Sonderjyske. I believe it was his league debut. @bungadiri @Friedel'sAccent - Mike Grella at Viborg Thanks!
looks like we missed his release last month http://translate.google.com/transla.../7475-kevin-mendoza-forlænger-med-vff&act=url
News today is that Grella will (probably) be trialing with newly promoted swedish Allsvenskan side Falkenbergs FF.
Grella is now on trial with NY Red Bulls. Does he have anything left in those legs? Ives Galarcep @SoccerByIves · 15h15 hours ago Forward Mike Grella, who passed up a GA deal from MLS in 2010 to try his hand in Europe, is among the #RBNY trialists. #BlastFromThePast
enough to get signed http://www.newyorkredbulls.com/news/2015/02/new-york-red-bulls-sign-forward-mike-grella-mls-contract
Hey @supercooper if you are still on this site. I know you said some crazy s**t, but you seem to have been dead on about this (about 5 years too early). Grella may not be the greatest player, but he is great for RBNY. See below.
This is worthy of a deep-dive thread refresh: "Where's your Australian accent?" 😂@vieri_bobo mistook @MikeGrella10 for the wrong Grella. 😅 pic.twitter.com/hBrioKu23Z— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) February 5, 2022
