Won't matter in concachafa but I agree we don't have an elite CDM player. But traditional CDM position is dead anyway. Elite teams have skillful and versatile players in that position. That's why a kid like Jona Gonzalez gets so much attention. He handles that defensive role very well but has the technical ability to create attacks. He represents the new type of player coaches are looking for. Specialists are dead.

I guess we still have a Michael Perez type somewhere if we want a specialist.

Until a new manager comes along with a whole different approach (the old is new) using these under appreciated specialists players...

So Gudiño that bad we'd rather see 50 year old Chuy Corona? lol...

I thought Michael Perez is kinda versatile but not very consistent.

I wonder what became of Alan Cervantes, Kevin Magaña of Chivas and Pablo Lopez of Pachuca. Those guys seemed promising.

Alan Cervates played last week vs Monterrey and scored a goal. Had a very good game too. He also played in the Toulon Tournament earlier in the summer and formed a great partnership with Jona Gonzalez.

Cardozo is a big fan of him so I expect to really get into the first team rotation this season.

Lozano's first Camp as Olympic Coach.

Notable inclusions would be Carlos Vargas, Alan Mozo, Gerardo Arteaga, Marcel Ruiz, Ulises Cardona and Paolo Yrizar.

Interesting that Ryota Nishimura is part of the coaching staff. I believe he was an assistant to Jimmy Lozano at Queretaro and had worked with some youth teams in Mexico as a GK coach at one point, I think.

A move to Tigres isn’t NT career suicide. We went into this WC cycle with a Liga MX defender as our defensive strong point and just as a matter of bad luck he got injured.

How do y’all rate the Atlas GK? I know he’s been starting in the league but haven’t seen any of their games.

He's good, but still a little raw

I think in a couple more years he would be a decent call up
