I did not see any posts about this... Last night for the first time ever Univision Deportes Network broadcasted a Mexican Championship match in English. It was interesting to say the least. Sounded like a couple of Ricky Ricardos calling the match. Bless their souls for trying. They are thinking about doing more games in English. They say they got positive feedback on Twitter.
That's interesting. Though, on the carriers that have UD, is it in a Spanish-language package or on some of the expanded general packages? They really have to get on more carriers, though, in any language.
For U-Verse, I think it's in the sports pack ($10/mo extra or free with U-450 - highest package), or in the Latino Package ($15/mo). FWIW, either of those two packages includes GolTV in English and Spanish, as well as FOX Deportes. The Latino package also includes ESPN Deportes. GolTV and Univision Deportes are also in HD for $10/mo extra. The U-450 also includes the HD package.
Didn't they try this on mun2 a few years ago? https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/mexican-league-futbol-on-mun2-in-english.1384441/
Yup. From what I remember it as a few Chivas matches and select few other matches Telemundo had the rights to. This was the first time the Mexican Final was in English though. I think it can be successful as long as the coverage focuses on teams with Americans on it.
