Personally I think Cobi deserves this honor. Basically Marco scored on the 2nd PK and it was disallowed for no really good reason.

Cobi OTOH had one very nice goal and one EXTREMELY nice goal, a game winner in the 86th.

Still waiting to see Cobi's goals! Darn mlsnet.com was doing a good job posting the goals...now they're slackin'....again.

another stat-driven player of the week decision I'm sure; of course I only saw two games this weekend (Dallas-Chicago on tv and at RFK for DC United-KC) so I cant comment too well on performers in other matches, but its BS, gotta exercise my right to complain...in a related note Martin Keown was man of the match in the Community Shield match on sunday, would never see that in MLS, takes a bit more following and understanding of whats happening on the field. Of course if the guys from the league saw Keown picked theyd be like "huh? he didnt score, no assist, no points??? and he wasnt the keeper pitchin' a shutout??? no way dude, Silva or Seaman were the only possible choices in that game!"

Certainly not Moreno and El Diablo. :D
Cobi Jones = MLS POTW IMO.

BTW for those who were at the game (since there was no TV coverage), was there any players encroachment in the box during Marco's disallowed PK goal?

    approachment?

There's encroachment on virtually every PK I have ever seen. That and the GK is almost always off his line before the kick, too. Maybe soccer should borrow the cyclops line machines from tennis. (Not!)

John McEnroe as a linesman? That will be the day.
BTW I meant to say encroachment. Thanks. ;)

Any chance this was a conspiracy to tempt Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme to become an MLS Sponsor??
