It's been a while since I've seen Roma fight for every possession, and play some attractive football. And on top of that we're still missing 4-5 key players.
If Milhouse hadn't got injured, Mancini never would have been moved to midfield and Flaco would have mostly sat on the bench recently. Just think about that for a minute. Just think about the disgusting football you would have had to endure. All my San Mapou's have been answered. There's not a single player that hasn't impressed me in the last few games.
Wow what a week. Just over one week ago we had AC Milan fans coming here to make avatar bets and talk trash, the Bulgarian nuisance talking about how bad this team was, and people questioning Fonseca. Since then we beat Milan, dismantled Udinese with 10 men, beat Napoli, and pending tomorrow’s results currently sit in third (Forza Radja!). Where is that Lord Spam after three consecutive wins!? Given where we were a few days before transfer closed this summer this is a pretty cool beginning of the season to watch. What a week.
I wasn't able to watch it live so I just finished watching it. The play of Pastore last year and this year is night and day. He's always been a fantastic passer and silky smooth in close quarters but his work rate is something I haven't seen in a long long time. There were a couple of times the tracked back into our half and picked off a pass.
LOL.. that would be something if we finished ahead of Napoli. Manolas goes to Napoli to try and win a scudetto and we end up finishing above them.
Pastore probably save the 3 points for us with hauling butt back to make a clearance just outside of the box when they were on a break.
Mancini is playing there because; Cristante, Diawara and Pellegrini are all hurt. I doubt very much if just Cristante is out Mancini gets moved into that position. Also, I think our run of form is due in large part to the players are starting to understand Fonseca tactics and what's their roles are. This is sports. Players get their chances, they come few and far between so you better make the most of them. Pastore and Mancini got their chance and they have made the most of it.
Yup. This is what has been such a pleasant surprise because the question with Pastore has always been effort. He's incredibly talented but he hasn't always been the hardest worker I love it though because competition for playing time makes everyone better
Le pagelle di Roma-Napoli 2-1: Zaniolo, Veretout e Meret da ... Fonseca seems to be learning more and more about the Serie A.....
This. Probably because due to the injury crisis, this is the first run of games where we finally field (almost) the same XI every game.
Milhouse was the last of those to get injured Java, that was the point. But you havent been around much lately so I forgive ya. Several factors contribute to a good run of form. One of those factors, when you have a big squad and many options, is getting the best players on the pitch and the worst ones off it (ie Milhouse).
Kudos to Chris Smalling and his bicycle kick save off the goal line. Hadn’t seen a save like that since Zeman’s Foggia 27 years ago...
