So Santon is more ready than Karsdorp it seems. Not surprising, since Karsdorp had an injury in pre-season. I was critical of him, but on Friday we'll have to support the guy. Hope he proves me and others wrong. I don't expect too much. Just don't be a complete donkey in defence, that's all I want. 4-2-3-1 with De Rossi-Nzonzi-Pastore sounds really good to me.
I'm very leery about Santon but I really hope they bring Karsdorp along slowly. The last thing I want them to do is throw the guy into the fire after missing 1.5 years. Confidence is so important and he's likely/hopefully our future at RB

I hope Nzonzi is fit enough to start. He was face down in the grass dead after about 20 minutes on Monday. He definitely wasn't fit enough to start then.
Yeah, Nzonzi came on and quickly showed his quality and made a significant impact for about 30 mins but he was clearly a bit leggy looking for the final 10-15 mins. Although I don't think the switch to 3 at the back helped in that regard to be honest.
Is it fair to say he has had little to no pre season after the world cup? I am wondering if this too is affecting Fazio's sharpness. I was never his biggest fan in a 2 man backline but he didnt play much in Russia and then didnt join pre season until very late. These first 2 games may have been his pre season work up to pace.
I hope we continue to play how we did in the second half monday, if we come out like we did in the first half were in for a long night.
Why? He's been good coming off the bench so far. Let's keep it that way instead of throwing him into the deep end so early. Best if SES starts with Kluivert eventually coming on if it's necessary.
Agree here but it's not a matter of whether it's necessary for me. I say he comes on no matter what with the one exception of we're hanging on to a slight lead, getting battered and need the defensive cover that SES does provide extremely well. That's about the only situation where if I'm EDF he's not coming on and getting at least 15 minutes. Just not ready to trust him in that situation yet.
