I think there is some money to be made in the EL through TV , ticket sales and sponsors but guess it’s kot like the old UEFA Cup or the CL.... It’s better than the coppa Italia or not being able to play in any tournament ...

this year each team earned about 3 mil for group stage play. You earn 570K for each win in group stage and 190k for each draw. You get 1 mil for finishing first in the group and 500k for runner up. Which means the maximum you can earn (if you win every match) is about 9 mil. After that 500k for reaching round of 32, 1.1 mil for round of 16, 1.5 mil for quarts, 2.4 mil for semi's. Lose the finals and you get 4.5 mil, win and get 8.5. Once out of the group stage you can earn 10 mil for reaching the finals, 14 if you win. All told the maximum prize money you can win is about 23 mil plus you get variable amounts based on your market which for a team in Italy. In 17/18 the Market pool amount was 507 mil, the EL market poos was 160 mil. When all is said an done, an decent run in the EL for an Italian team can earn them 20+ mil easily.
Yes, but: 1. That was under the 2015-18 CL/EL commercial cycle, TV and sponsorship revenues have increased for the 2018-21 cycle. 2. The 14m excludes stadium revenue. 3. If you reach semi-finals at least you can add two more home games to that revenue, plus more participation and commercial payyments. Commercially it is not equal to the CL, but I did not pretend it iis. Nevetheless, it is important to qualify for it both commercially and - from ranking perspective - for our seeding.

I don’t know why anyone is mentioning deep runs in EL. Anytime we are in that competition our players barely even care. It really is incredible just how bad he’s made this team. So much for some grand plan. Even if he stayed we would have needed a third summer of major overhauls.
