There's a new U-16 callup based in Argentina, Matko Milijevic:
    https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...-calls-21-players-for-argentina-training-camp
MIDFIELDERS (9): Everson Amaya Mejia (D.C. United; Alexandria, Va.), Mario Anaya (San Jose Earthquakes; Livermore, Calif.), Jordan Bender (Orlando City SC; Lake Mary, Fla.), Taylor Booth (Real Salt Lake AZ; Eden, Utah), Cameron Duke (Sporting KC; Olathe, Kan.), Nelson Martinez Rivera (DC United; Woodbridge, Va.), Matko Miljevic (A.A. Argentinos Juniors; Buenos Aires, Argentina), Marcelo Palomino (Houston Dynamo; Houston, Texas), Indiana Vassilev (IMG Academy, Savannah Ga.)

He was born in Miami, FL and moved to Argentina at less than a year old with his family. He was formerly with Boca Juniors (former club of Joel Sonora and current club of Alan Sonora) before moving to A.A. Argentinos Juniors.

Edit: a tweet from the club announcing his US callup.

Yes, that is not very common. Intriguing. Great find!

He is an '01, currently with the Séptima (7th) although the club website still has him on the 8th division roster which is a year younger. @ChuckMe92 your post above actually links to the 8th Division Roster on an apparently damaged or unused page. This is the correct link:

    http://www.argentinosjuniors.com.ar/futbol/amateur/juvenil/octavadivision#divisiones

He scored last weekend in a 4 - 1 win over Villa Dálmine.

    http://www.argentinosjuniors.com.ar/futbol/amateur/juvenil/noticias/20170508_6688

And he is off to China on the 15th of May to play a friendly with the China U-16 YNT.

Had a brace in a 5 - 0 win over Camioneros this weekend and a hat trick last week in a 6 - 0 win over Douglas Haig.

    Interview highlights:

Kid's going to be a beast! International Tae Kwondo champion and at 16, already 167 pounds of muscle.

He also appears to have been top scorer of his team last year and is on track to win this year as well.

Although born in Miami, he has obtained Argentine citizenship and wouldn't turn down a call up from Argentina. He says he would like to be in the situation of having to choose once he is faced with a cap tying situation.

Born May 9, 2001. Goes by the nickname "Toto."

Also his hair is really freaking long. He wants to keep it that way. I just hope he doesn't decide to go the dredlocks route.

This kid's really under the radar. I hope not too far. Wouldn't mind seeing him with the U-20's.

Holy crap... that’s pretty promising. Never heard of this kid till today. Looks like he’ll play with the first team this season. I feel like if he breaks out Argentina will swoop in and get him before the US does

Seems he trained all last season, and debuted in November, with the reserves (youngest player on the second team), skipping at least two youth levels since I last checked on him.

There are two good (newer) interviews on the club page. I apologize for not having time to translate but I will provide some excerpts:

He normally plays as "enganche" (CAM) but also as a CF. He says he doesn't cut his hair because he promised his grandfather he never would. They used to call him "Masche" because he loves to make sliding tackles.
He stopped training Tae Kwon Do last year - he is a two time international champion - because in his last fight he hurt his knee and decided he needed to choose between it and football. He credits his time with the USYNT, and Tae Kwon Do, as helping to mold his character.

At this point Tab needs to call up this kid ASAP... if a club in Argentina is already high on him and is grooming him for first team minutes this upcoming season imo, it is a must. Everyone knows Argentina is a top, top hot bed at developing world class attacking talent for the US to already have a player like that in there pool they need to capitalize on it.

Serie A minutes weren't enough to get Joshua Perez a callup so we will see.

Matko Miljevic, the Yankee looking for a debut in Argentinos Juniors

33 years ago an American footballer lifted the largest trophy in America dressed in the jersey of Argentinos Juniors . At that time it was Renato Corsi, born in New York, who was proclaimed champion of the Copa Libertadores.

Currently, there is another Yankee player who wants to follow in the footsteps of Corsi and succeed with the Argentine team. His name is Matko Miljevic and he has a unique history.

Miljevic, whose grandfather was Croatian, has spent most of his life living in Argentina, but was born in the United States after the 2001 crisis when his parents moved to Miami. His passport allows Miljevic to play with the Yankee teamand a year ago was called by the sub 16 of the North American country to play a tournament in France.

"It would be a dream to defend the colors of the United States in a World Cup, " said Miljevic. "I watch the games, he has good players, especially [Christian] Pulisic, I watch his matches at Borussia [Dortmund] and he's really a crack, I'd like to play alongside him in the national team, " he concluded.

I think he will break out. Everything I have read has led me to believe he is rated incredibly highly and with his debut a few days ago I think he'll do really well this season.
