Now that's a partnership I could get behind.

Worried about this one. Porter doesn't seem poised to make the same mistakes DCU & Seattle did. He's definitely not going to sit back and expect us to not do anything.

What he meant to say is, "It doesn't get any easier than this."

Beautiful day, post game fireworks and sleepover. Womens World Cup bounce. I'm sure they announce a sellout but do you think it will be full? I'm going with my honey and leaving the kids at home so I hope the U play well. Getting harder to sell her on the season ticket thing when they suck and I have a hard time filling my seats when I can't make it.

    Are you paying attention Sak?

I love post-game fireworks. Cuts down on exit traffic.

Due to my Union-ized preconceptions, this is exactly how I read Porter's quote at first.

Philly looking for its first win versus Portland (two scoreless ties at PPL, 0-2-1 at Portland). Portland tied for MLS lead in shutouts with 8 and has won 6 of last 7 games. It would be impressive if the Union can get the win tonight as surely Tranquillo Barnetta will be watching it with Sak in the owners suite.

Yea to this issue! My wife is in love with Seba and has become quite the soccer fan in general but NOBODY LOVES A LOSER! So how about it Sak? Pony up the dough and have one of yer interns send out some flowers or Sherries Berries to all of our honeys! Think of it as a business investment you d-wad! Still cheaper than investing in a real DP eh?

There used to be a conception of Portland as a team that struggled outside of Jeld-Wen on normal sized grass fields. Is that still true or are they doing better on the road this year?

Unfortunatley I got a pretty severe lung infection on Thursday. Antibiotics started yesterday and I finally got the 103 fever to drop, but this thing wiped me out pretty good. In the interest of NOT wanting to spread it to the whole River End, and how tired I still am, I'm watching this one from home.

Shame as it is a perfect night. Hopefully there will be a good turnout. Since I am missing it that will guarantee the U put 4 in the old onion sack.

It would help if they just let my wife take the wine out of the DFH River Deck. You can take the beer down but not the wine. Someone explain that one to me. They employ two staff members just to prevent it.

It's a shame you couldn't make your way onto the Portland training pitch this week...

In all seriousness, I hope you get well.

They would have been in big trouble if they had gotten this. After the first 24 hours on antibiotics I went outside for maybe 5 minutes to pick some green beans and it felt like I had been out there for 5 hours. It sucks. But at least I feel like I'm on the right track now. Rarely do I find myself preferring a Sunday match, though. Tomorrow I may have been able to muster the energy.

I don't know what to think of that half. On one side we looked great, on the other, I'm watching on MLS Live and the Timbers are apparently playing without 7 of their normally rostered players. Given that knowledge I feel like 0-0 is a bit of a disappointment.

Looking pretty good, but should have had at least 2 goals during that first half!

Thank God for this. If we had drawn, or even lost, to this Timber's B-Squad I would have lost my mind. Of course we continue to be masters of the asterisk. ;)
