What/When Toronto FC will return home to BMO Field to take on the Montréal Impact in the second leg of the 2017 Canadian Championship final on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 7:30 pm EDT. It is currently 1-1 on aggregate. TV/Video This match will be shown live on TSN (http://www.tsn.ca/, English) and RDS (http://www.rds.ca/, French) in Canada. Radio/Audio None
Aside from wanting TFC to win because I'm a TFC fan, I really want to see this TFC squad in the CCL. MLS is coming closer to beating the Mexicans and I think this side may have the best chance yet.
agreed we have a stonger side then what went to the CCL semi finals last time out....and 2 games at bmo in february is just lovely...bring it on.
bmo field conditions for the cup final with bad weather today and that cfl team on it on saturday one has to wonder if the groundcrew can work its magic and get it playable for Tuesday night
So.... If TFC scores more goals, they win If MTL scores more goals, there is a one-game playoff at BMO If the final score is 0-0, TFC wins If the final score is 1-1, it goes to overtime If the final score is 2-2 or higher, there is a one-game playoff at BMO. The best thing is that there is absolutely no scenario in which we have to hear that annoying bell ring for the rest of this championship.
This is focused on making the CCL, and rightly so. There is still the 2017 Canadian Championship/V Cup, however, which would also look good in our trophy case.
Driving home from a golf tournament listened to the last 30 minutes on TSN 1050......sounded a cracking night leading to a late winner for the home side.....take August 9 off!
Canadian Championship games always deliver in terms of entertainment and it was no different tonight.
wtf is Montreal complaining about? 1 call on Bernier on a red...OMG...ok, so if that's not a red....what about taking out Beitesour...no attempt at ball. What about straight take of Giovinco in the box...no ball... straight red, straight penalty..no call. At the end of the day you can whine and complain about a single call and how you were hard done by but what are you doing to prepare your team for the next time you face TFC if you go on TV and start whining about reffing not up to the challenge he shouldn't be there...your players follow and instead of prepping about what you need to do to compete you will feel it was a single call that cost you a game. In the end it should have been other opportuniites where TFC were better and should have resulted in at least a goal...so you probably should have lost Montreal.
Great result and lots of fun for the home fans. For a tournament that's only (or sometimes I think already!) ten years old, the Canadian Championship has had its share of dramatic moments.
Montreal is doing what TFC and their fans did for all those years the club was bad....that is, selectively remembering the calls a ref made that went (or seemed to) against them but forgetting the ones that helped them. Perhaps it happens in all of sport but it really falls into the category of "it is what it is". From watching the highlights, the ref made some mistakes....but they certainly were not to the benefit of one club or the other.
tfc 6 mtl 2 or TFC 2 MTL 1...which one is better? i would say last nights game as Montreal had their best out , and they gave it a game....TFC's best ever canadian championship result....2nd place last years win in Vancouver.
Miracle in Montreal was the most Epic away game. That is up there with these past 2 years but will always be most special because it was our first trophy. Side note I agree with the Impacts coach. That ref was Brutal Beitashour taken out only a yellow? Gio taken out with no play on ball plus no PK call? Brutal. Only call he got right was Bernier going studs up. EAT IT!
^ I had the same thought. Montreal was complaining about the ref? If anyone had the right to be annoyed it was TFC. But, hey, we won.
we should remember that as some mock Montreal for their reaction......if Odoro nets that sitter and they hold on to win, I am pretty sure it would be TFC making fools of themselves blaming the ref.....it is just part of sports, when the official has a bad game, the team that loses whines.
montreal had no right to complain about Ganter, who in the past has proven he is anti TFC.... Impact should have had 2 reds cards and thats not a hometeam bias thats football knowledge, and Seba was denied a outright penalty, how Ganter gets his officals badge is puzzling...CSA doesnt produce quality officals.
I mock them because we were the ones getting the lions share of bad calls and that red from the refs angle looked like Bernier went studs up it wasn't a make up call. I agree the ref was bad but against us, not them.
The Miracle in Montreal was special; not only because it was our first piece of hardware, but because we managed to piss off both Montreal and Vancouver in one single game.
