I know this is old, but damn, I hadn't seen it and it makes me feel good for a lot of reasons. Watch as the cast of Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" reacts to seeing the exclusive Hall H footage for the first time at SDCC! pic.twitter.com/QIKTTW2Lri— Black Panther (@theblackpanther) July 23, 2017
Loved mindhunters. Enjoyed Ozark too very breaking bad. Punisher looks good. Think I'm more interested in this than any of the other netflix marvel show
Question: Is "The Gifted" worth checking out? That show sort of moved under the radar for me but I might try to catch up on it if it's worthwhile.
I'm enjoying it, I think it's been pretty good so far. Interesting take on a few recognizable characters, but it's not so far off that you're thinking wtf. Wish it was doing better in the ratings, but Fox's superhero shows seem to be stuttering this season.
i saw 5 or 6 episodes and it's pretty decent. Nothing else to watch on Mondays since Gotham moved to Thursdays.
I'm enjoying The Gifted. I was a big fan of "Burn Notice" (Miami-based spy show with Bruce Campbell in a supporting role) and the same showrunner is doing The Gifted. It has a good mix of non-comic-book stories with comic-book hints dropped in - they refer to the X-Men on occasion, but the X-Men are gone in that fictional universe, and they created a recent past with a 9/11 type event that turned the public against mutants, etc. - the fictional universe feels well constructed - but they don't have silly spandex costumes.
I watched a few episodes and honestly the thing I enjoyed the most was the one guy who had the old X-Men animated show theme as his ringtone.
Imagine, Disney decides that the Fox Marvel movies made to date are still canon because it was part of the Mojo Universe where he was controlling everything, so those stay the way they are and now they can go forward with their own X-stories.
In all seriousness, "The Gifted" is alright. I think the Netflix Marvel shows have made me a bit spoiled in terms of production values, everything looks just a little cheaper than on say "The Punisher". Also, I think I like the cast a lot more than I like the writing, to be honest.
It was funny when all of the Disney/FOX stuff was rumored, everyone was thinking about Marvel. I thought at least on BS, people would think of regional FS stations.
This sounds interesting... http://thecomicpanel.com/2017/12/05/scripted-wolverine-podcast-the-long-night-is-marvels-next-phase/
Boo on "The Gifted" killing off Sonya (I <3 Elena Satine). Also, Esmé and her sisters are ridiculously powerful mutants if their power extends to mind control beyond mind-reading. Basically she/they are Killgrave on steroids.
I never put it together, but once I saw the three of them I was like damn, it’s the Stepford Cuckoos. Totally took me for a surprise.
I read up on them a bit. I wasn't familiar with the characters yet. So basically they are like the White Queens' protégés in the comics?
Jessica Jones season 2 debuts in March. Luke Cage season 2 just finished filming a few weeks ago. Daredevil season 3 started filming in October while Iron Fist season 2 is starting to film now.
