I do hope the family of the late Baroness Thatcher will configure the grave, so as to allow dancing on the stone.
I'm not in the Thatcher is evil camp, or the Thatcher is the greatest camp. She had her pros and cons. She made some tough choices and had to fix some massive problems, but she was also short-sighted and did irreparable damage. The two camps listed above each embarrass themselves.
She was anti-Irish, anti-Catholic, and anti-working class. The invisible hand of capitalism is driven by person greed and selfishness. All she did was give the middle finger to the labour unions that wanted to protect the rights of the working class. Democracy is great, but there is nothing wrong with believing in socialism. Fascists on the other hand can go burn in hell along with Thatcher. It's Paddy McCourt, Celtic's cult hero. He was born in 1983.
And the IRA are angels, right? Those same savages and neanderthals that would go as far as murdering children? Don't talk to me about British labor unions...they are worse than the ones in the USA: just a bunch of greedy, corrupt individuals who offers absolutely nothing to society.
Yeah, we really did beg you to impose that on us by law, back in 1800. Murdering children... starving nations to death and raping cultures and families. Potayto, potahto. In short: they're both shite. Yeah. Sheffied's just been booming since they went down alright! Thank Christ for that. Look, I am far from a republican or anything of that nature. But the fact is that the world is a better place now than it was 24 hours ago, simple as.
No-one gives a rat's rear end about what the Irish think....never have ...never will....P.S. me dear sainted mum was born in Ireland...Kilkenny to be exact....so I'm half Irish by blood me ownself.
Tell that to American politicians. You know, the ones your bunch seem to be answerable to. The fact is, the world got better today. It is what it is. A few years delayed, but never too late. So what now of her criminal son? What will he do? He is still banned from various countries, the US included right, for his dodgy dealings?
I care less about her idiot son than I do about the Irish ( I do agree with you about him though)....I think Maggie was great....you don't...simple as that.
Because a senile old woman in a nursing home died? The world would have gotten better had she died in office, but at this point it's irrelevant because the policies she espoused are still wreaking havoc in numerous countries, no?
She wasn't in a nursing home. She was in The Ritz when she died, together with an army of nursing and other medical staff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ritz_London_Hotel What's also conveniently forgotten now is that she only stood for the party leadership against Heath as a stalking horse. The tory apparatchiks never meant her to be the leader, it was just a coup against Ted Heath who was seen to have been a failure creating the 3 day week and then managing to lose the subsequent elections.
My family lived in England until I was 7 years old, and "Thatcher Thatcher the milk snatcher" is probably still the thing I most associate her with.
Trust me, if you'd stayed, you'd have associated her with a LOT worse than that, dude. That was kinda like her showing her sensitive, caring side.
