He's a billionaire with his own TV channel, HDNet (thus the name of his league, HDNet Fight) which he says reaches 65 million homes. He has already appointed Guy Mezger as the commissioner. Cuban got into it while broadcasting fights from many small promoters and now he wants to pump some of his millions into his own league. They even say they want to co-exist with UFC.

Since UFC already has most of the best fighters in the world signed that means Cuban is either going to have really outspend them or build from the ground up and really develop talent. Cuban already is starting a weekly show called "Inside MMA" that will cover MMA from every league all over the world and of course have guest interviews (Lidell is first).

Here's a good column about it all:

What do you guys think about a new big-money guy stepping into the ring and possibly competing against UFC at some point?
