Following Osorio's 3-4-3, this is what I would expect: ---------------Corona--------------- ------Montes--Ayala--Pereira---- Gallardo----------------------Reyes ----------Edson----Duenas--------- -----------------Orbelin--------------- ---------Pulido-------Barragan----- Given his penchant for changing goalkeepers to match the opponent's tactical strengths, expect Moi or Corona to play accordingly. The same 3-4-3 with a few changes: ---------------Moi--------------- ------Montes--Ayala--Marin---- Lopez-------------------Rodriguez ---------Burrito----Orbelin--------- -----------------Pizarro--------------- ---------Elias-------Sepulveda----- The above one is risky because it lacks height and physical presence in the middle and Osorio would likely opt against it (see below). The fact that Edson is being brought to the Gold Cup leads me to believe that he will be part of Osorio's spine. This spine will also likely include one of Duenas or Burrito. I doubt Pizarro and Orbelin will play together much and will probably alternate in the same position/role. Elias has a chance to be part of that same spine and I think he will surprise many people who haven't followed him closely throughout the years. ---------------Moi--------------- ------Montes--Ayala--Marin---- Lopez-------------------Rodriguez ---------Burrito----Edson--------- ---------Orbelin/Pizarro--------------- ---------Elias-------Sepulveda----- The 4-3-3 option is still there and is the other side of the coin. -----------Corona/Moi------------- Gallardo-Montes--Ayala-Reyes ----------------Edson---------------- ---------Duenas----Orbelin--------- ------------------------------------------ ----Elias-----Barragan---Pulido-- The idea with Pulido wide will probably be half tactical half player style with Pulido preferring a bit of freedom to roam, much like Jimenez, while also able to provide defensive sacrifice on the wings if the occasion calls for it. Similar to the 3-4-3, this set up allows for a couple different changes to accommodate for a different approach within the same system. The important aspect will be to see who becomes part of that 7-8 player core Osorio built with the main squad and look for replacements that could benefit the main team. The coaching staff has already stated that they are looking for fullbacks so the players in those positions will likely be under higher scrutiny than say, Barragan or Sepulveda. On a lesser note, midfielders like Burrito, Edson, Orbelin, Duenas and Pizarro will be looking to fill 2 spots on the main team, maybe more if certain players like Fabian or Gio fall out of favor with Osorio over the next 12 months. All things considered, this a rather interesting squad. I'm cautiously optimistic.
So let me get this straight, osorio said that this tourney serves the same purpose as the confed for Germany which is pretty much u-24 to try out new young players yet he starts: Moises 36 Ayala 30 Molina 29 Dueñas 29 Elias 29 Luis Rodriguez 26 Sepulveda 26 Makes sense
What a contrast from Germany B to México B... Germany calls up young talented players like Goretzka and Werner, and they prove they are up to the challenge in the Confederations Cup... We call 30+ washed up players like Ayala Moises, Elías, etc... Our best prospects like Gael Sandoval and Ulises Rivas are not even taken in consideration... A fucking joke...
Dis my true team @_@ It's sprinkled with just enough anonymous bums that we won't know who to be mad at if they lose.
If Osorio has any balls, and if he doesn't get fired he should play with this line up. -------------Corona -------Pereira---Montes Lopez----------------Mayorga ------------Alvarez ------Orbelin-----Gutierrez Elias-------------------Pizzaro ------------Pulido Doubt it will happen, knowing him we'll play with something like this. -----------Corona -------Pereira-----Ayala Chaka----------------Reyes ------------Molina ------Dueñas----Gutierrez Elías--------------------Pizzaro -------------Pulido Pisses me off how other youngsters got left off for overaged bums that have never accomplished anything outside of Mexico.
This squad isnt that bad since it has many midfield holders/contentions, Natural Fullbacks, CDMs etc to choose from unlike the Confed Cup The offense is thin tho with not many playmakers or strikers unlike the team in Russia
Osorio be like "fvck yo line up madafacka!!!" cuz after the 3rd place match hes gonna manage the GC team lmao
Shit Heard that Pulido picked up an injury in the Paraguay game and will more than likely not play Copa Oro
Le Cube it is... Por lo menos habrá que darle el beneficio de la duda... NEWS: Dynamo forward Erick Torres will join Mexico for Gold Cup. Dynamo are not yet sure if Torres will be available Wednesday vs Montreal.— Corey Roepken (@RipSports) July 3, 2017
Man if I was coach and the only options I had at CDM were Dueñas and Molina, I'd have submitted a 21 man list.
Any interesting young players on this GC team that cam crack the first team? We need outside backs and a CDM!
Pizarro, Orbelín, Montes, Alvarez, Mayorga, Luis Reyes. Pulido counted as someone who could eventually take Oribe's spot, but alas, he was broken.
