Assisted the first goal and scored the second. Played well and put the first goal on a platter. Sevilla is a good side, I'm surprised Muriel was frozen out early in the season because he fits perfectly with this formation because of his versatility. Playing in a front two he can alternate and move inside and can come wide to open up space. Hopefully Muriel can stay in the lineup, because this team has everything set up the way it is for him to do well.

Prefer he go back to Italy then go to Portugal.

Falcao isn’t getting any younger we need this dude to step up but at this point it looks like his generation of strikers will get skipped on the NT

Ideally he stays at Sevilla and they continue to challenge for La Liga and the Europa league and he solidifies his place, moving mid season is always a pain in the ass and difficult to integrate and get comfortable. If he has to leave would rather he do it this summer, hopefully the coach after his recent run will keep relying on him.

It's a shame but between his lack of workrate and his terrible shooting technique he just doesn't have what it takes in that formation even when he is very dangerous when he is inspired or feels like doing sth.

Maybe we see why Pekerman did not like to use him either and opted for a 3 man d midfield against England instead.

I thought the triple cinco was more of a function of saving Uribe to be a game changer later in the game? Not so much a lack of faith in Muriel. Or probably a combination of the two.

Your guesses are as good as mine (except Crzd's guesses of course). Just throwing out another factor as to why Muriel did not start piggybacking off what Baal said about his inconsistencies and lack of work rate.

I don't think its his lack of workrate, finishing technique is probably more the reason. Out of all their strikers he has the highest workrate, showed that last year in games against Barca and United, but his finishing has let him down.
