Just scored a goal. If I'm not mistaken, this is his first Liga start at home. Makes a difference...

why? Pizarro is a defensive midfielder.

Ben yedder is his competence. although muriel is playing every week. will play at weekend

Muriel made a mistake that led to a goal. Not a great game against Real Madrid.

These are terrible news for muriel actually.......montella is a disgrace.

the worst period of time (only bad time) that muriel had in sampdoria was with him...

we all know how he destroyed bacca

Kinda worried about Muriel. He's supposed to be our future striker and no one else has popped up yet he's not having a dominating goal run out of recent memory.

He is what he is. A player who can be dangerous on the wings with his pace and skill (and can score a goal out of the blue on a counter every now and then) but not at a consistent rate as a #9.

Montella loves him and has faith in him. Maybe that can translate into bigger things since he is getting more minutes these last couple games.

None of our new gen strikers score all that consistently after the WC Falcao will be 32 and he really our only top option currently.

MF, defense looks set....... we need to have more GKs and consistent strikers pop up

Roger Martinez and Harold Perciado going to China really fkd us

Muriel played 72 minutes today. Did not do much statistically but he did not really have to. His hustle and positioning was good for the most part. And of course his speed and technical ability on the left sideline was on showcase a couple plays. Although most of the game he was a lone striker up top which I do not like for him.

His hard work was very much well appreciated Went off to a standing ovation by the supporters in the stands. I always love seeing that.

I'm really surprised that Sevilla hasn't played him off the left more this season, I just don't think he's at his best playing as a CF at this point in his career, but coming off the wing he's really good. Hopefully he gets more time playing there and can get a run of games in the second half of the season.

he's gotta start putting some back in the net though... Surely it sounds like the tactics aren't playing to his strengths but in a season where Sevilla is doing well he has to impose and make his mark. CL spot should be a proper goal.
