I had never heard that before. I seem to recall flights from Alaska going over the ice cap, and I know both Canada and the us have major airbases on Ellsmere island and in Greenland, but who knows.

 

There are plenty of Air Bases in the Canadian arctic, but the wide body commercial jets that operate those flights can't land on gravel, which is what the runways at places like Resolute and RCFS Alert are made of.

I was always under the impression that airliners were barred from crossing the ice cap due to environmental concerns.

 

Except the g is slightly lower in the Northern latitudes due to the non-circular shape of the Earth. So, if you take a Northerly route and then come down along the meridian, you actually save the fuel.

 

Then I've been living a lie all my life. Either way the point isn't relevant as the flight path from Iceland over to Vladivostok goes over northern Russia.

 

I've been searching all over for a Metalist jersey. Sounds like you got yours in person at their physical store, I'm guessing you couldn't find one anywhere online either?

Ya I've come across plenty of replicas/fakes, but I'm more interested in the authentic Adidas one, thanks for the tip though.

 

I don't have an authentic one, I just have a knockoff that I got as a present. I should be going to the home opener this weekend so well see how things have changed. I got a legit Metalist track suit for my birthday and last time I was there they were constructing a team store so we will see.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood you. I thought you were talking about the jersey on 12igrok.com. I don't know what they do or don't have at the stadium, I'm in the US and don't think I'll be getting back to Ukraine in the near future.

I live in Japan and I actually went to Vladivostok when they were in the top division and watched a game.
I looked all around the stadium and in shops for a jersey but couldn't find any...
Still looking now!
