According to varius media here in greece, Lothar Matthaus is very close to take charge of PAOK, that have terminated the contract of Karageorgiou, after the match against Metallurg (1-1 in Toumba) which was a poor result following the rest of the teams bad results.
    Xanthi-PAOK 1-0
    PAOK-Atromitos 2-2
Rumors have it that Matthaus was supported in this choice by Bekenbauer.
Money talks: The deal so far is supposed to 1.2mE for two years contract
plus some bonus in case the team actually does well.
The only final glitch seems to be the Hungarian NT with their matches ending about mid october, so there might be a delay there.

And a question: Is Predrag Mijatovic Matthaus agent? And if not, then what is his involvement in all this?

I just hope to say that if this is true, well, good luck to you guys. You may well need it with him as coach.

The two sides have come to a deal.
Matthaus will take over Paoks management on 3-10-2005, after he has finished his obligations towards the Hungarian NT.

oh, and something else, i'm not a supporter of Paok, i merely pass the info.

He desided not to come to Greece.
    PAOK president was disappointed.
