As of a few weeks ago when the first pictures were taken, they hadn't but I wouldn't put it past DC to dump the snow on our tailgate area "because no one parks there". The logical thing to do would be to move it all to the far side of the lot away from the stadium and the walkways but when has DC ever been sensible about things?
well they moved all the piles on our half of the lot the other.... if you all get a chance, go by it, it is TERRIBLE (in my Barkley voice) all thats left behind is a giant lot of sludge, i hope they clean the hell out of it, i def would not want to step foot on that lot. they other half will prolly melt next year, huge piles of shit.
I went over and looked. So yes, they've moved the piles to one half of Lot 8. If you imagine coming into Lot 8 from the gate off Independence Avenue, the portion of Lot 8 that's to your left as you approach the guy who takes your money/pass stub is the portion that now has all the snow and ice. The part to the right is now clear of snow and ice. So the snow and ice is now pretty far from the tailgating areas and the walk into the stadium. However . . .the parking lot was already in bad shape; then add damage from the snow/ice melting, salt and chemicals in the piles, etc., and we already expected the parking lot to be awful. Well, it's worse than that. It looks like when they moved the snow/ice, they actually tore up what pavement was there. Most of the cleared portion of Lot 8 looks like a rough, dirty gravel surface. It's unusable as-is. That said . . .there was a grading crew working while I was there, levelling the surface. So they're working on it. I didn't try to go in because of the state of the surface; but I did drive around behind DC General and over to just behind our area, and the ground there didn't look *that* awful. If they can get the lot repaired, I think we'll be OK.
there suppose to repave the drive in from 395.....wait till the snow melts, then all of lot 8 new pavement.... BUT this is DCSEC suppose to do that, so I doubt any of it will get down
I drove by today. There's crews out there, but not much progress, it seems to me. I believe they're constrained from doing any paving by the temps -- the ground needs to warm up a little more.
Ran into Senor Zack today on the Hill; he indicated that the District still says Lot 8 will be ready in time.
Not especially; but given that they've graded it, if they don't re-pave the lot in time, it'd actually still be usable at this point . . .so long as it doesn't rain just before and turn the lot itself into a mudpit. I don't know anything about the status of the access road off the SE-SW Freeway/Barney Circle. That was supposed to be in horrible shape too.
any idea on the status and location of the pieces of the stage? It should be 4 total pieces, 2 for the main stage and 2 for the drum riser, I think. Maybe 3 for the main stage. thanks!
