It's a weird game for us because we are expected to win and heavily. So if we win - we don't get credit from the media (yes yes who cares I just want 3 points as do most sane fans), and if we draw or lose (*shudder*) - the knives will be out again full force. Nice part is that their supporters are already bigging up Fat Sam who is on a "3 game winning streak". Never mind that Fats was in the stands for West Ham (19th place West Ham) and did travel today as they beat the Greek Apollo Anton Ono - while garnering 4pts in a Europa league group also containing Lyon (2nd Ligue 1) and Atalanta (10th - Serie A) after winning the Premier League offseason transfers race.
Don't forget these two games (Prem and FAC) are pretty much all they have left to play for this season!
As usual the bitters will try to kick us off the pitch, so I expect Klopp to ring the changes again on Sunday, with Hendo and Ox stepping in ...for maybe Mane and/or Phil.
Any news on Moreno’s injury? Assuming he is out, does Klopp go with Robertson or Milner at left back? As much as I would like to see the Fab 4 in action again, I think we will see some squad rotation. With 2 games a week it is the smart thing to do.
Poor Gylfi...he reckons Allardyce brings a bit of sparkle to Everton. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42270741
I've never liked Allardyce and I know my Evertonian brother isn't a big fan either but what he will bring to Everton is a new sense of belief and hope. Their players will be seeing it as a fresh start and they'll all be trying to impress the manager and show they deserve a spot in his first eleven. On the other hand our boys are really playing with confidence and a swagger we haven't seen since Suarez left . This should be another cracking game, really looking forward to it.
The northwest of England is in the midst of a snow storm which they say will be bringing freezing temps and snow to the city. "And it raises the prospect the Merseyside Derby -set for 2.15pm on Sunday - could see the Anfield pitch carpeted in snow." --The Echo
Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno has been ruled out of Sunday's Merseyside derby at Anfield amid fears that he's facing an extended spell on the sidelines. The Spanish defender limped off just before half-time during Wednesday night's 7-0 thrashing of Spartak Moscow in the Champions League Moreno has damaged a tendon in his left ankle but specialists aren't yet sure about the extent of the injury. The 25-year-old, who has resurrected his Anfield career this season, will be assessed again over the coming days.
Always a bit of a war. But I don’t think we have anything other than a crowded fixture list to cause us to make changes. I think he will play Henderson. But will Can or Gini be his partner. I expect that due to the let’s say agricultural aspects of the game that Milner will play at left back. Robertson may play in the next match. The real question is 4-3-3 or 4-4-2. I think he likes the latter for putting the Fab Four in the best circumstances
True that. Everything you need to know about the sod. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...erpools-new-anfield-pitch-everything-13196892
Just get us 3 points first and no injuries. We can start talking about the nature of the win afterwards.
Imagine that Big Sam will have them defending deep and looking for set pieces from Sigurdsson. While I fear they will sneak a goal I am not sure they are good enough to stop the Fab Four in full flow Tactically it should be very interesting and I expect Mignolet, Milner and Henderson to be the only changes
The weather continues to be a bit of a problem on Merseyside as the game gets closer. Football fans, drivers and families across Merseyside are being urged to keep an eye on the latest travel advice as forecasters predict that up to 14 hours of heavy snow could hit the region on Sunday. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/merseyside-braced-14-hours-heavy-14016920
Just look out for that nasty little bastard Tom Davies. Perhaps I should let the ref know. We don't need injuries.
the combo of nasty sly Bitters trying to cripple anyone in red, plus poor pitch conditions ..... jeez this will be a worrying game ....
