Here we go again....... First preseason friendly game is tomorrow against Chester (conflicting with England). LFC is donating all their portion of gate receipts to Chester. Game is on at 10am E. So far the only TV is LFCTV/Go
I won't get it but the rep is for the memories of Chester. Great town to visit. We used to ride there on out bikes. Via the Mersey Ferry. A Roman wall around the old town lots to see and do. Nice pubs on the river.
Right on, scouse. anyone thinking of visiting Liverpool - add a side visit to Chester. you won't regret it. lovely place to visit.
My one and only visit to Anfield had me staying in Chester (Liverpool hotels were booked up). Nice little town with a lot of history.
Friendly against Blackburn on Thursday July 19 - at 2:45pm E. There is a channel called ElevenSport that is showing some of our games on delay. After that it's 3 games in the US - all on ESPN or ESPN2 in the ICC
Changes for the CL this year? TNT (?) and a paywall. UEFA Champions League will have 2 game windows on each group matchday this season (12:55 pm ET and 3 pm ET kickoffs). TNT will show 1 game per window. Rest are behind a paywall. https://t.co/tbQLrqIDiK— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) July 31, 2018
Yeah not great. With 4 games shown per week, you'd think we'd mostly be televised on TNT, but there will be some group games at least behind the paywall. I looked into it briefly and it appears you can buy individual programs to stream. They are currently showing the womens hockey world cup and games are $2.99 each or you can get the whole tournament for $9.99. For LFC fans, probably would make sense to buy on a game basis. I ended up getting NBC gold last season and watched 2 or 3 LFC games on it, so paying $3 or $4 per game is definitely a good alternative if its just certain games you want.
yeah, that nbc gold was one of the worst investments i've ever made. $50 for two matches, basically. they made it seem like there would be more. i'm fine paying a la carte for matches. what i'd really like to know is their replay on demand plans. if i miss the match live, can i stream it later without any spoilers? nbcsports app used to have all matches available to stream for about a week after, but not everything was making it to the replays this year. And gold was just a total waste.
Yeah, NBC is weird with the replays. It seemed matches in certain time slots/channels didn't get posted for replay, but I couldn't figure it out exactly. I subscribe to LFCTV so you can get them their a few days later. Here's the link https://live.bleacherreport.com/ Looks like they have some replays. You can usually get CL games on fullmatches . com or some other variant.
I had no idea that Fox lost the rights to Turner. Where the hell have I been? On the surface, this sounds like it'll suck but maybe this will be better as we'll only be paying for what we need? Who knows... Yeah, not doing the NBC Gold thing again this season. Even at the reduced price of $30 I got it for last season, I think Liverpool were shown a whopping 2-3 times. Ridiculous.
