A lot of fitness concerns for this one after Tuesday. Robertson went off injured. Henderson got hurt but played through it. Origi was subbed off for what looked like an injury. Everyone else ran themselves into the ground. Salah could still be a doubt with concussion and I doubt Firmino is involved. I’m sure our players will suck it up and give one more big performance, and then they get a 3 week break before Madrid.
Allison Trent Matip Virgil Milner Fabinho Henderson Wijnaldum Salah Origi Mane I wouldn’t be surprised if he picked Sturridge instead of Origi or Gomez/Lovren instead of Matip.
The way things are going, would you bet against Moreno coming on as a winger in the 80th minute to defend a 1-0 lead, giving away a penalty in the 86th, then winning us the title in the 93rd?
Origi had cramps - he will play. Sturridge may start again. Robertson probably will not be risked. Milner at LB. Fab-Hendo-Gini midfield. Shaq will probably start too. Look - Wolves is a very good team. We will have to be on our toes to make sure that Man Shitty earn this.
Tougher than Barcelona. Does anyone seriously think that we'll beat Wolves 4-0 and look comfortable doing it? We might/should/will/could win, but 4-0?
Wolves are locked in for 7th place, nothing will change even if they lose so won't be going hell-for-leather. I hope ....
Nah, they'll come at us tough but this team is mentally tough enough to absorb what happened Tuesday and take these guys on. It'll be gritty but I think we'll get a 2-1 result. Brighton will get our hopes up and then lost in the 80th minute. Either that or they'll give up a goal in the first 2 minutes.
Of the choices, I'd go for the latter. That still gives Sterling around 90 minutes to put one into his own net.
I believe the last time Liverpool and City played at the same time was back on Boxing Day. We easily beat Newcastle 4-0 and I was obsessively checking City’s score throughout. Late in the 2nd half, you randomly hear a roar from the Anfield crowd, and it was because Leicester had just gone ahead against City. I will take more of that on Sunday.
Gave Arsenal and Tottenham problems recently (insert joke here). But yeah, they've been pretty piss-poor this season. They'll have nothing to lose on Sunday which could be a blessing or a curse.
An odd little stat. Liverpool have twice won the league by beating Wolves on the final day – in 1947 and 1976.
