Yup. Origi headed tap-in in the 95th off a mis-handled VvD shank off the top bar by the keeper. Pretty much how I thought it would end after a no score in regulation. Klopp tactical master class, I'm sure they've practiced that in training. Can't defend that.
Was Origi injured or out of favour at Liverpool this season. Forgot he was there until yesterday. Asking as he's half Kenyan lol.
Klopp praised him quite highly saying something to the effect of Origi put his head down and trained hard every day and that he's finally fully fit (ie the injury was really bad and its taken him a long time to get back to top speed). the ball that Origi pushed past Mina and burned him on reminds me of when he was healthy 2 seasons ago before bitter Fumes Mori ruined his ankle.
It looks that way, terp; the injury really held him back. Funny things about these injuries-- recall Jon Flanagan a few years ago wouldn't be taken even on loan and then smash bang he had a burst in form that led us on a charge almost to the top. Could this be a similar redemption for Origi?
We have a front three that start just about every game, and when they haven’t, the opportunity has gone to Sturridge. We tried to sell Origi over the summer, but he turned down a move to Wolves. Dominic Solanke has also been completely left out so far this season.
Funny, true story about the game yesterday: I was coming back from NYC and the flight was an hour delayed (so I got to see all the way until Shaq's missed 1v1). When we got in the air, I bought the $8 WiFi and saw that we had about 25 minutes left. Played one more episode on Netflix and then went back to my app to check the score. 0-0 going into stoppage with 4 minutes added. Chuckled to myself that Origi was in. Literally watched the minute counter go up to 94:00 (and stop). Repeatedly pressed refresh and thought to myself "watch this, Origi for the win in the last minute." You can imagine my reaction (and how crazy I looked on the plane) when I pushed refresh in the 96th minute.
Running scared apparently. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...opp-disrespected-everton-celebration-15500290
The best part of that play was Origi was the only to actually attack the goal thinking he had a chance to score. Everyone else had given up.
I don't think I've ever seen a match finish in this fashion? Really shouldn't have mattered considering the chances Mane, Salah, and Shaqiri had. Lads need to find their shooting boots.
999 out of a1000 - that never happens again. I’ve watched the clip today probably 100 times just to be safe and make sure that it actually happened. Oh and to laugh at Everton. Definitely to laugh at Everton.
The version where the ball makes noise off the crossbar is my favorite. And the crowds reaction to the same.
