Are you guys (Liverpool fans) nervous about Sunday match? I watch Man United match today (I follow Man United matches only because of Mourinho), and tbh, if MU play like how they did today when it come to the match against you guys on Sunday, it be an easy walk for Liverpool. I just can't see how can MU beat you guys or even draw with you guys given how they played today against Valencia. It a miracle if they win on Sunday. And I don't believe in miracle, lol Good luck Liverpool.
crap !! can't find anything other than this footnote on a piece about Matip. no idea if it's accurate. nothing on the official site.,,,, Apart from Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold is also expected to miss the game against Manchester United after he picked up a foot injury during the Champions League win vs Napoli. https://thefootballfanbase.com/2018...rnold-ruled-out-of-liverpool-vs-man-utd-game/ also, physioroom.com says Clyne isn't even in training at this point.
from what I saw Klopp just said after the game "it'll need a scan / I don't know" kind of thing? hope you're right of course .... edit: "Trent got a knock on his foot, we are not sure about what exactly it is. It is painful."
Good article. I had forgotten how dominant United were over us in the 80s, when we were kings. Plus there's 50 minutes of the 3-3 from 1988 which compares favorably with today's standards. Another Scot, Steve Nicol this time running up and down the wing from full back.
Not nervous - we are a MUCH better team than them -- but: 1 - In the Prem, any team can beat any team. no such thing as any easy game 2 - MU are a crap team but they do have talented individuals, and against us their professional pride will kick in. 3 - Beating us is a huge deal for their fans - their players know this and will be more focused. than usual. So no, not nervous, but it won't be an easy game imo.
Curious as to what Mourinho will do Most people expect him to park the bus, but will he? There was a city match (last season?) where he did the opposite of that. Will not be an easy match no matter how he sets them up.
The only "cake walk" that I remember vs Manure was the 2014 game at Old Crapford where we won 3-0 and should've been 4 if not for Stevie missing 1 of his 3 (!) PKs. I remember being nervous as hell going into that one because I was expecting us to win there (for once). In the end, it was very routine. Thanks, Moyes!
I expect him (JoMo) to park the bus(es), waste time and generally get his players to provoke LFC at every turn...much like he had Chel$ki do the last time we were close to winning the title...(was that Gerrard's "slip" game?)
Recent run vs the scum... L 2-1 [away] (Prem) D 0-0 [home] (Prem) D 1-1 [away] (Prem) D 0-0 [home] (Prem) D 1-1 [away] (Europa) W 2-0 [home] (Europa) L 1-0 [home] (Prem) L 3-1 [away] (Prem) L 2-1 [home] (Prem) L 3-0 [away] (Prem) Woof.
Best Coutinho goal for us. absolutely abused the defender and then made De Gea look like a mug. Goal right before the half too to nullify their goal and give us an away goal.
Delay on results usually means bad news... Rumors of 2-3 weeks, which isn't too bad all things considered.
Beating them when we should (like now) is another "step" in this team's journey. It used to be we'd beat all of the top sides (with the exception of ManU) and slip against the mid and lower table teams. This season we've shown the tenacity, patience and will to win to grind out victories against teams we "should"beat. Now it's time to get the manc(ee) off our backs and dispatch them like the load of rubbish they are.
Don't forget the March 2011 game at Anfield in which Kuyt scored a hat-trick (the first coming off a piece of pure wizardry by Suarez, the second coming off a brain-fart by Nani) and Carra did a number on Nani. The 3-1 scoreline flattered United--they were awful, and Liverpool were rampant. But that was quite a while ago.

looks like he won't need to -- Clyne may get the nod, but won't be fully match fit so if he starts I doubt he'd go 90 mins. The Reds boss confirmed that Alexander-Arnold will miss the game this weekend after suffering a foot injury during the closing stages of Tuesday night’s Champions League group stage win over Napoli. It’s not known exactly how long the 20-year-old will be on the sidelines for but Klopp says Alexander-Arnold’s injury isn’t as serious as those suffered by fellow defenders Matip and Gomez recently. Matip will also miss the Man Utd game after being ruled out for up to six weeks with a broken collarbone that he sustained during the dying seconds of Liverpool’s win over Napoli in midweek. Klopp’s options in defence are further limited as Gomez isn’t expected to return until the New Year after the England international fractured his leg against Burnley earlier this month. However, there is some positive news for Liverpool as Klopp confirmed that Clyne returned to full training this week and is back in contention to face Man Utd on Sunday afternoon.
I came to post the same thing. the last match i watched with Bob was against the mancs. i really miss that guy....
