Need to start scoring goals again...we've got just two in our last three matches...no better time to get things rolling again than this Sunday against ManCity...c'mon you REDS!
No kidding. Wake up Reds. I don't know what is wrong with them. We finally start tuning the defense, and now our high octane offense looks like it doesn't even have a first gear.
I find this weird to say but if our starting front 3 is Salah, Firmino and Mane I will be a little disappointed.
Hoping that this is just a case of reverting to norm. Were we struggle to open up a defensive team who bring the team bus. Then take advantage of an attacking team who dare to come out to play. Hoping!
great news that Naby gets the all clear. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45741471 EDIT: It would be nice if the official site updated their news, all it has is from last night.
We were on the road against a team that was PL champions 18 months ago and a team that had 91 points last season. They were both very good. Its barely October and we'll have had 4 of the toughest fixtures we'll have all season in the last month.
I wonder if our recent (needed) focus on the defensive side (which has been much improved btw) has hurt our offensive thrust? I agree with a post from another thread, it would be nice if the international break could be used to improve the team (and rest), instead of shipping all of our top players off to play international meaningless games...
at best Naby will be on the bench on Sunday - if he's seen at all - so I think Fab will start the game.
I'm more inclined to think that other teams are focusing their defense on Salah, not allowing him space to cut inside onto his left.
This is great news, but also curious. Back injuries generally don't work like that. I wonder if it was back spasms? That's the only thing I can think of that would require him to be removed from a game but then be declared fit the next day.
Most likely something to that effect. He had bumped with a Napoli player earlier - may have been jumping for a header and seemed to slow down after that.
I've had back problems - from time to time - most of my adult life. the most frustrating things about them are (a) how unpredictable they can be and (b) how the tiniest little movement can trigger them. (I was in pain for a week once after I wrenched my back putting on a t-shirt ). I hope Naby's problem doesn't become chronic, coz he'd be very unreliable and could eff up his career. that said, he's possibly in better physical shape than me. maybe.

I have a feeling that this game is coming at a bad time - our 3 starting forwards are all misfiring, and after the 2 Chelsea games plus Napoli, overall our guys look mentally tapped out. meanwhile City are starting to hit their stride. hope I'm 100% wrong of course -- but it's a shame it's coming before, not after, the international break.
it may help Mo if he varied his game a bit. every time he gets the ball he's looking to get into a shooting position which leads to getting crowded out a lot. if he mixed in a bit of "traditional" wing play (ie head for the line not for the goal) he might get the defenders second-guessing themselves. Mane changes his approach like this and it often works.
He has been cleared and was training yesterday - though it may have been individual training. I think he will be available - don’t know if he will start though. Lallana is in full training again as well - but given his history I wouldn’t expect him to be anywhere near match fit - or even subs bench fit. His history seems to be that of a guy that needs a month or more to get back to game speed....which starts a vicious cycle for us as where is he going to get games. He’s actually a player that could help solve our creative conundrum in midfield. Fortunately he (and Sturridge) haven’t been called by England this time around.
