Once again, double digits in corners won without a single clear cut chance created. Do they practice them at all?
I lost count of the number of times we passed to nobody, just to get rid of the ball it seemed like, and why do we even bother with corners? The crowd deserved far better but nobody will remember this if this marks a turnabout in form against so-called sh!tty teams (Burnley was much better than that, though.) I was sure that Lallana wasn't playing until he went down and the referee pointed to his watch as he took an eternity to get up. And I only remember Can because of his goal and the numerous errors he made. Clyne was gash, Mané's touch was downrighbt awful and Coutinho, a step ahead of all his teammates, was off tune. The centre-halves were as dodgy as fcuk. But I'll take the 3 points
A big f*ck off to Burnley. F*ck their whining players, their sub-Pulis football, and their classless pub bouncer of a manager. Please get relegated and don’t come back. Also, f*ck the way they allow the Tim Sherwood contingent among our fanbase to come out in full voice.
Burnley are not a shit team. That's a good example why unlike Spain or Germany, some of the other big leagues, the Premier league is the best league in the world. Even the bottom teams can make it a battle when they have a good manager who can exploit weaknesses. Yes, it shouldn't be this difficult against a 12th place team. Some of their play was self-inflicted. That being said, 3 points is 3 points even if it's uggggly. 4th place, 5 clear of the arse. Looking forward.
Can't remember another game this season where we have come away with 3 points without playing well. Really good goal from Can, who otherwise was struggling yet again. So we have Man City next. I hope Firmino is fit for that one. After that all of our remaining games are against teams that will have the same plan as Burnley did today. I think it is time for Klopp to change our approach, because we won't get away with many more performances like today. Perhaps 3 CB's so we are less vunerable to the direct approach and wing backs to give our attacks more width?
You mean the same Premier league that is getting outplayed in the CL for years now? It is obvious lower Bundesliga and La Liga clubs provide a more sound tactical setup than lower EPL cannonfodder. Playing in Germany, Spain and even Italy is like the Burnleys, Bournemouths and Leicesters are the rule not the exception. The difference in quality is EPL has 4-6 Bayerns instead of just 2 and the level of tactics is 2 levels below.
pretty much accurate which is why the 3 points was so rewarding. matip played well - Klavan not so much - but had a vital block at the end. we are in crunch time and need to pick up as many point as possible in any way possible - so the only thing to take from this game is resiliency. Next - a much different game in Citeh.
Or try something somebody else at [both] fullback positions? I still think Can and Lallana are generally the weakest links against these types of teams where some sleeves need rolling and the passing needs to be quicker and more accurate. Maybe reshuffle the midfield pack a bit, too. Just seen the statistics-- does the feeling of our being sh!t cloud the judgement a bit? I could have sworn Bunley had more than one shot on target! And only one corner to our 11?? Not that we make use of them, like.
Yes, that's my point. There are better managers in the EPL top to bottom than the other leagues. If German teams had to deal with 6 Bayerns instead of 1 and had no rest period in the winter, it would probably show up in their performance in Europe.
It doesn't seem like it but we have won the last 3 out of the last 4 Premier League matches And https://twitter.com/OptaJoe
