I'm not defending United, but if you really support Tavlaridis's style of play, I guess we have very different taste.

i actually completely agree with you... i hate play like that... i also also dissapointed with acimovic when he dove (there was no foul, he stepped on some man utd guys foot and then dove away) ... i don't know tavlaridis that well... doesn't even sound like he's from france w/ that name... i really hope someone tells him to cool off... i was impressed nistelroy didn't just knock him out with a punch... i would have...

 wow, buddy: that is one silly thing to say
& you should know better. You do, right?
Let's pretend we didn't *hear* this...
You're probably wondering about his nationality & he's Greek:
    Efstathios Tavlaridis

um, i don't get it? i was saying i have not heard of him since i don't believe he's french... wasn't trying to say somthing mean or anything... i must be missing something then... i do think he deserved the yellow card as well as a few others on the lille team, i REALLY don't like simulations...

below are interviews from ferguson and puel in french... if you understand french, you'll see that ferguson "refused" to shake puel's hand... what an idiot... thinks he's the ********** all the time... doesn't realize when he was beaten fair and square... i would like to say hopefully ferguson will learn one day, but he's already pretty old, so wake up or something alex!!!!!!!

On a mérité notre victoire. A chaque match, on a haussé notre niveau.

He is the main reason for my anger. It's pretty clear that we are playing like shít for a variety of irrelevant reasons. You cannot deny that fact. I am not expecting to win or perform at this moment in time. What makes matters even worse is when the referee makes an already difficult job for the team even harder by refusing to apply the rules of the game. I can accept defeat when another team is superior, when a smaller team just has a go, even if we just get a bad break. What I don't like is when a team sits back and fouls/cheats their way throughout a match. There is no need for it, particularly with our recent form. Mr Tavlaridis, showing what he has learned at Arsenal, persistently fouled his way through both games and got off with a single yellow card. He committed more fouls in 180 minutes than most players do throughout an entire season!

Ok, sorry then. Just a misunderstanding, that "language"
    thing...My mistake.
Desole.

And I agree with you, I don't like simulations either.
And Ferguson is an ass :D

I just finished watching the VHS tape of the game, and I have to agree fully w/ you. He should have had a direct red for ramming Smith from behind and got off without even the second yellow.
Lille played smart and rough and the ref didn't intervene when the rules called for it.
ManU on the other hand played without determination and focus.
All in all ,it was a poor game for the CL. A draw would have been acceptable, but I have to say, if there was to be a winner in this match , Lille deserved it.
The gods of soccer smiled upon the French this time. :)

Tavalridis is actually English by birth I think. Brought up in North London, both of his parents are Greek.

North London is home to a large Greek population.

Came from the Arsenal youth system iirc.

    He plays English. :D
That isn't an insult either. I never thought I'd hear an English team, come to France, and complain about the physical nature of the continental play. In 1999 Man U would have come and smashed Lille (or a comparable french side) into the turf... bad pitch... bad referee... bad whatever no excuses. Now all we get from Man U are books of excuses. Man U has too many finesse players (Christiano Ronaldo is useless. Giggs is much less flashy but much more effective), too many premadonas (Rio Ferdinand anyone), and not enough heart in the middle of the pitch or on the touchline.

Without Roy Keane you guys are shells of youselves, and that should be a real concern considering that he may have played his last match for you guys.

Good luck against Benfica and Villareal, you will need it if you come as weak with them as you did with a small club from Northern France.

    Anybody watching Lille-Benfica today?
2d half about to start, still 0-0
Lille really should be ahead by now, they've
had lots of chances. If only they could finish them...

The Stade de France looks filled up, probably majority
    Benefica fans but it's nice.

It's on SopCast (TF1 broadcast), address is:

Well, they need 3 points, I don't like their chances going to Villareal on the last match day.

The ManU fans are calling Villareal cheaters on their thread.... Everyone cheats against ManU according to them. Classic losers.
