Lifting Sal's ban

Do you get to know the specific post that generated the ban? Some of you already know. But there's no single post to it and it wasn't the only thing even yesterday.

Anyone with a track record of using the most heinous of phrases about groups of people gets a reputation and, because of that, less leeway over time, and in this case the site admins had had enough. That goes both ways too: some users develop a knack for knowing what will and will not provoke a reaction from the moderators. They use it consciously, but as the leeway gets less, it can be come a case of "unstoppable force meets immovable object."

 

Was Sal warned that he would have his account deleted or was it an arbitrary decision by an apparent arbitrary moderating crew who can't handle criticism better than children?

 

As I said, arbitrary and thin skinned.

 

Well, you've asked more than one question. But I'll answer the last: I haven't read anything critical of the Site Admins from Sal, so no one is reacting to a criticism from him. I am reading critical things from you, and no site ban.

Right so a user who no longer appears when you click on his profile who doesn't have a red. Argue about nuance, his account was purged.

 

So what exactly have you done to his profile?

 

Ah - you're upset with the way he was banned more than that he was banned? I can probably fix that, starting with adding a mega-infraction that will last 100 years to an otherwise innocuous post.

You can earn bans in several ways. One is through the infractions system, which is how it usually works; this generates a red card message.

 

Whatever you did it's ridiculous. Run it whatever the hell way you want but my conclusions remain the same.

I don't think I will continue posting here if members are treated this way.
