    Projecting much, beloved? :)

I really love how those cults members band up on each of every post, congratulating and repping each other. So precious! Perfect wank fest not to stay lonely in that big bad world. Remind me of an other cult, JW's. :ROFLMAO:

Republican framing has been very effective since Reagan. Trickle Down for instance has been disproven time and again. Most recently with the Trump tax cuts where corps took that huge savings and did stock buybacks and/or increased dividends. Thats not helping Joe Sixpack much.

I've wondered if the actual success of neo-liberalism ultimately spelt the end for conservatism as a supposed genuine economic ideology.

Once the left adopted market liberalism there was little daylight between left and right on economics, apart from such debunked stuff like expansionary austerity, tax stimulus, deficit hawks etc

Now conservatives kind of gave up pretending it was real and just lie about it, because hard market liberalism actually makes way more logical sense than reagan era stuff.

But they are not about to do full market liberalism. They'd rather slash everything, but then still hand out huge amounts of GDP to favoured corporates etc.

So you end up with the worst of all worlds. No social healthcare yet no hope of market competition providing it.

'In rich developed countries' should be your qualifier, because that has been the default position in most of human history and still is in many developing/poor countries.

I don't think we should call the Congo 'radical extremist dystopic', they just have many other issues, and providing good health insurance for their population is not something they can do right now.

Wasn't Castro's big boast always the better medical care and higher literacy rates that Cuba had compared to the gringos? We're rich. We can figure out a better non-employer based system.

Fidel's Cuba was a land of contrasts. A friend of mine, a doctor from Argentina, used to go to annual medical conferences in Cuba. He said the conferences were top notch, Cuba had the best surgeons, and he became friends with some of them. They taught innovative techniques, and boasted the best surgical equipment, and yet they would ask him to smuggle in basic medicine for them, and even toothpaste. The Cuban top doctors tended to live better than the general population, but they still lacked basic essentials like aspirins and toothpaste, and they would complain about their hospitals lack of basic essentials, like lightbulbs.

No one actually believes that even the most lefty of the leftists actually wants 3rd trimester abortions and mass gun confiscation for everyone, including rural hunters. Only an idiot would even suggest such a strawman. Well, maybe my cousin, the ex-Marine Trumpanzee from Kansas and some of his ee-jit friends on Facebook, but no one who can actually think their way out of a paper bag.

By global standards, seizing all automated weapons is more mainstream than permitting them. It's hardly a radical notion.

I do, but I am not that lefty.

Well did Beto wanted a mandatory buyback for "assault rifles"?

That is confiscation but you get some cash to go drink your sorrows away.

You think people want third trimester abortions as a matter of course, not just when the mother's life is in danger?

No, what the democrats really wants is to kill newborn babies. Third trimester abortions is merely an intermediary step.

I am talking just about my self, I would be ok with making it legal to abort all the way to the day of birth.

But I do understand that is very radical and is never going to be legal.

Is all about picking a cut off time.

Like 18 to serve in the military or 21 to drink and buy weed.

For me personally I am ok with late, very late abortions. I would vote for candidates that would want that, but is not a make or break issue and I understand why it would not be politically acceptable to want that.
