I am sure the millennials would protest this logo now then tell us to take down the 96 and 97 banner.....

I still cant get with the new branding. oh well, bigger things to fight with the club.

I still really hate it. For me, the timing was unfortunate--the club was doing everything in it's power to alienate older fans, and then they go and get rid of our perfectly fine badge. It's been over a year and it still hasn't grown on me. I don't think it ever will. It sucks.

The 3 stars should have sufficed.
There are 8 things on the flag. 3 white stripes/sections, 2 red stripes, 3 stars.
So they could have used 8 soccer balls to get the point across.

I thought that was a "No Philly Union" sign (looks to be their logo under the dog's tail)

Sadly no, the stack of schmidt depicted is the sole property of any team with a -24 goal differential. The team motto is "if we had a coach we'd win some games if we had some players"

How about a more complete re-brand? Back to basics.

    Nope.

The pre-1996 DC United prototype logo was the pinnacle for DC pro soccer logos.

Yeah. To me it offers nothing new -- so the only thing it brings is further disregard for the one good thing this team had a lot of: tradition.

This is, ironically, the perfect symbol for this club right now

So, you've chosen to come to the thread that was specifically created to discuss the logo change, and indeed to confine it there, and is titled to make clear that people are meant to talk about the logo change there, and are expressing frustration that people are discussing the logo change there. Hm.

I went to a sex shop once. I was stunned to find all this stuff about *sex* in there!

I get the nostalgia thing -- and I'm a 96'er with that logo on a t-shirt -- but that one sucked as a logo/crest. Rank amateur stuff.
