Did we get a bid for Tchani that we turned down or maybe a transfer fell through? Serious question. Tchani is not playing for crew SC any more
While I agree my thoughts turned to. Tchani had a mysterious calf injury. Usually saved for players that are not playing because the player is subject to a transfer.
Seriously..the entire team looked unmotivated..was Tony bad..yes..but so we're many others.... Wait..goal post..motivated..My bad
As I continue to play into my late 30's and see kids in their early 20's play, this is my general impression; Many of them have moves that are way better/cooler/whatever than anything I was ever able to do. However, many of them don't seem to be very good team players, and they fail to see just how effective simple things are, like a simple old cutback and, when you have the ball, shifting your body between the ball and the defender once you've beaten them/got past them.
Oddly, this is what let him down on that first Toronto goal on Saturday. I thought of this post as I walked to the fridge in disgust for a drink. Bad first touch, just a bit too far and too off balance to recover as the TFC player found Giovinco and our season continued to smell like shit. Also the main reason why MBTT finished the game with a Midfield Boss ranking in the mid 6's instead of his usual 8-10.
What I miss the most is the fellow that sits in the row behind me yelling at Tony. "Way to go Tchani "You Miserable piece of****"!!!
I figured we could bump up a few different threads that were actually talking about soccer...on this soccer message board.
The Crew just loaned out Mo Abu for the rest of the year, 24 hours after former Columbus CM Tony Tchani was waived by the Fire and is available to be added to the roster...— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) August 10, 2018 The masses have heard the plea! #CaptureTonyTchani
I remember a woman near the Nordecke who every time he was introduced on the starting roster would scream out, "******** you Tchani!"
I'll tell you this, hang. If Tony Tchani ends up re-signing with us, you'll want to think about giving credit where it is due. i.e. Gregg. Because if there's anything to Tchani-to-Crew whatsoever, then I *guarantee* that Chicago tried desperately to get something in return for him before the deadline. And Gregg, like everyone else in the league, will have told NelRod "nope, nope, nope, but good luck with his 350k!" Because almost nobody straight up waives players of the caliber of Tchani and Ellis anymore, like Chicago have just done. It's a case of "Wanna know how I know your GM sucks?" Like, people wouldn't even offer a 4th round pick. I assume that Tchani, along with Ellis, has cleared waivers by now and everyone is free to negotiate new, reduced terms with them. So if Tchani does indeed return, Gregg will not only have stiffed Chicago, but beaten everyone else in the league to his signature, too. And no doubt on a deal that makes sense for everyone. Speaking of deals, the Abu move is an interesting one, but another time perhaps. On a side note, I've always like Tchani and hope he does return.
