It doesn't matter if he looks good or whatever. This kid needs minutes and seasons. Son was getting Bundesliga games when he was 17. Youth players who don't get regular playing time after transitioning to senior squads fail 9.89 out of 10. This is dire, dire situation. He's already missed out on years of development from Barca days and he's missing out on development during his entire time in Italy. Even if he breaks it into first team somewhere, we'll all be wondering how much better LSW would be if he got regular playing time and developed fully like Son...

Son wasn't getting games when he was 17. He signed a pro contract when he turned 18 and shortly after that he debuted. He had a breakthrough season when he was 20.

I think he scored that goal against Chelsea in the 2010 preseason before he turned 18.

Yeah but that was preseason. He had a really good preseason but "didn't do that well" in the actual season. He was really promising though. HSV fans thought that he was the next Messi from that preseason. Took him 2 years to become 10+ goal scorer.

He got subbed in at 79th. Team lost 1-3 tho and likely getting relegated.

Watching this team is like watching a bunch of players on a G-League team trying to make the jump to the NBA. Only caring about individual performances instead of the collective team performance.

Maybe a relegation might be a blessing in disguise for him?

Lee just doesnt suit the Italian style. He should go back to Spain asap if it's somehow possible...

This is a terrible team and Lee is looking terrible in it. There's no way to even start judging him bc he's in football purgatory with this team.

You can tell he has good awareness.

Unfortunately, that's about all that can be said at this point. I've remarked upon it before but he thinks he's a lot faster than he is.

Has anyone seen a Hamburger SV game recently? That Japanese boy Tatsuya Ito is like 1.64 and he's killing it, probably their best offensive player atm. Fast, good dribblings, nice passes, etc. He shows that a strong body is not everything.
If LSW also works on his strengths, he can compensate his physical weakness. I hope he gets some playing time again today.

Another poor performance from Lee. As usual, dispossessed easily, and picked up a yellow card for a blatant dive in the box. On the bright side, he's at least consistently making his name on the match sheet. That was his 4th yellow in his last 5 games.

EDIT: Here is his dive. I mean, this is really just...

I think Lee Seung Woo just scored. Anywhere I can get the clip? Happy for him. Atleast end a terrible season on a positive note by getting on the score sheet.
