Yeah basically this. It's because Incheon helped him develop into the player he is and he wants to repay it back in some way. Also good for marketing the league etc.
you’ll have to link me that article. out of all the korean articles i read about kangin on a daily basis, that must’ve been the one i missed.
No they spend over 100k all the time -_- especially with a guy of his reputation and skills it's whatever.
By Yoo Jee-ho SEOUL, July 1 (Yonhap) -- Valencia CF's South Korean prospect Lee Kang-in kept mum about his immediate future on Monday, amid rumors of a move to another club for the next European season. The 18-year-old helped lead South Korea to a runner-up finish at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland last month and earned the Golden Ball as the tournament's best player. It was South Korea's best performance at any FIFA men's tournament, and Lee is the first South Korean man to earn the top player award at a FIFA competition. Lee is under contract with Valencia through June 2022, and Spanish media have speculated that the midfielder will be loaned to another club -- possibly Spanish side Levante -- that will give him more minutes. https://en.yna.co.kr/view/AEN20190701004900315 ----- In any case, I hope Lee does not sign a new contract with Valencia. He should force a move to a bigger club.
So Valencia is okay with giving away for $3-5 mil Euros their fan-favorite hot prospect who just won a Golden Ball at 18 and is lusted over by top European teams and thus has a 80 mil Euro buyout? Did I get that right?
Yoo Sang Cheol is his eternal manager. It was fate that brought YSC to manage Incheon. LKI must go to Incheon. All is right with the universe.
you know what? after some thought, this transfer makes sense. It's not like he will stay at K-league permanently, it's a loan. He will be back in Spain sooner or later. Plus, LKI can live in Songdo City, one of the most daring world-class real estate projects in the world. I've watched Incheon under Jorn Andersen. They played some amazing technical football. And I'm sure Yoo Sang Cheol continues that tactical blueprint. LKI will thrive.
Regardless where he is loaned out to, I'm not sure why Valencia would agree to an option to buy for 3-5 mil Euro. That's the part that makes no sense.
Obviously Valencia hasn’t decided on its plans yet. They could use him as part of other transfer deals to get players they need, or they could use him as a first team player, or whatever else. Team’s needs come ahead of this player’s needs. No official word of any transfer, including anything having to do with Incheon. Nobody would give away a golden ball winner, first team break out player. The player wants to be involved in La Liga, not in K league. He likely knows where he can best have chances to be a top player. No disrespect but not likely in K League. Also, number 10 belongs to someone else, and no team will hand out a number to an 18 year old. LKI helping out with promo event does not constitute a loan. Unless I’m totally missing something here...
Not too sure what's really going on. Maybe just rumors? -------- Gomez managed to score 13 goals in La Liga for Celta Vigo last season and the club are willing to cash in on the Uruguayan with West Ham and Valencia interested. However, the Hammers are unwilling to pay the 22-year-old’s £45m release clause and saw their opening bid of £22m rejected. Valencia are reportedly offering a player-plus-cash deal, which includes £13m up front plus 23-year-old striker Santa Mina as well as two youngsters - Jorge Saenz de Miera and Kangin Lee. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...-news-Maxi-Gomez-Callum-Wilson-Salomon-Rondon
