It was looking like this was the only way we were going to get a goal. Just send Piqué up as striker for the last 5 minutes
Great result tbh, many players got rest, awful conditions, Real Madrid ref and Asspanyol giving them all. Toughest away game probably done.
This is what the derby always is. Yet we are still undefeated in the league, and Espanyol got our blood boiling, which is doing us a favor, psychologically speaking. No complacency til we lift the trophy.
I'm cool with one point. The pitch and rain just made it impossible to run and control the ball properly. Messi played less than a half of the game is also a good thing. Coutinho has yet to impress even though he almost scored.
Happy with that result, the conditions were truly atrocious, well done to both sets of players for putting on a very entertaining contest.
I was disappointed with Coutinho but have to allow for the conditions and the fact it will take him time to settle in.
Messi with the close control and dribbling in a swimming pool with the defender trying to take his shirt off and kicking him......just phenomenal. God has given him an unparalleled gift.
quick highlights, not English, both goals and a half dozen near chances: longer highlights 11 minutes vs. 2:46 and in English, Sky? not BeIn:
As much as those Espanyol asshole deserve it( especially given what they've said about his family), I've never been a fan of shushing as a celebration.
Early Sunday games conflict with my pick up game and the DVR decided to not record it. Oh well. Will check the highlights. When I saw Messi going all out vs Valencia I had a strong feeling he'd get rested today. It's a good thing. CL matchup coming up and a tie today doesn't hurt at all.
Now Espanyol can give Real some free points and simply go into a hole until next year I hope I see them relegated in my lifetime
I don't want to tar all Espanyol fans with the same brush, but a minority have a strong affiliation with fascism. I'v seen with my own eyes Espanyol fans zeich heiling
Apparently one of their players, either Gerard Moreno or Sergio Garcia, called Umtiti a "pü†o negro," which set him off as you see in this clip. It seems Sam is saying "porqué esta frase?" - why this phrase? https://streamable.com/9smoz So it's not just Espanyol fans. Let's wait and see how the LFP do absolutely nothing about this. edit: Onda Cero tweet about it: Cuenta @joseagustinww que @samumtiti estaba muy caliente en el túnel de vestuarios porque un jugador del @RCDEspanyol le ha llamado "negro"#Radioestadio— Radioestadio (@Radioestadio) February 4, 2018
It seems like all those ex La Masia/Barca players who end up playing for them become extra scummy, I guess they try to fit with the rest of that shithole of a club. Victor Sanchez and Sergio Garcia would have never seen trophies if it wasn't for Barca. edit: this was written before knowing that Garcia said a racist slur towards Umtiti.
