I’m taking Liverpool over Barca all day provided their trio up front is fit What a weird CL it’s been
People still underestimating Ajax? IMO, the problem wasn't Mahrez on the bench, it was Mahrez on the field (instead of KdB) in the first leg. KdB was MOTM for me in the second-leg, which highlights the mistake of benching him in the first leg. And then not starting Fernandinho in the second-leg. So first-leg Pep was super cautious and second-leg he goes all out without any consideration for defense/balance. I'm not sure why.
I agree. I wasn't suggesting Mahrez on the bench was a problem. I meant that their bench was so deep in comparison to Tottenham's who brought in Llorente Davies and Davinson and yet City still choked
Guadiola always makes these very questionable decisions on CL knockouts and they never work out. We all noted it here about Mahrez .. a guy who never plays and he decided to start him in the most important game of the CL up to that point. From the 1st leg match comments section.
I would not wave this too much as next year the headline can easily be "Zidane is nothing without CR". The way the transfer rumors are going now, there's not going to be much of a change in the team.
Then again being a coward and being too afraid to believe in change, the team or a positive outcome never paid off.
French news station @CNEWS have confirmed that PSG will be wearing a jersey with Notre-Dame Paris this Sunday in their match against AS Monaco. pic.twitter.com/G69NxTGnhL— OneFootball HQ (@OneFootballHQ) April 18, 2019 Awesome jersey
With Son also gone for first leg, Ajax is definitely a favorite. But, in finale they get trashed by Barca or Liverpool.
He actually said Man City hasn't been there in SF many times, just once. Pep still stumbles over english sometimes so what he says can come out confusing.
Maybe this is the year for the traditional "chokers" lol.... See Totenham. I think Liverpool over 2 legs is major threat... they can go crazy at Anfield. I was happy we got them in the final last year rather than the semis for that reason.
*Pep runs like Sonic, and jumps like Mario for 5 mins* *Pep spends an hour trying to tuck his shirt back into his trousers, without success* That was an all time classic for sure.
And to happen to the guy whose career owes so much to the scandal of Stamford bridge, that was really well deserved. Barca should be next.
