#LA Galaxy's Jermaine Jones has a grade 2 MCL strain an MRI revealed, according to the club— Kevin Baxter 🇺🇦🏳️🌈 (@kbaxter11) May 8, 2017
I'm sure someone will ask so - "A grade 2 MCL strain can take from two to four weeks to heal." -UCSF Medical Center.
If it makes you feel any better, Baxter subsequently tweeted that it was like Durant's injury for GS and he was injured on Feb. 28 and came back April 8. So, a little over a month.
Though things like age and health history come into play, i'd imagine 6+ weeks, but could be wrong. Honestly not sure I'm in a rush for him to be back.
Plus, even if Husidic and Pedro play better without him and this allows us to get Ema and Gyasi on the field in their preferred spots, we're pretty darn thin at center midfield. I guess Garcia could sub for Husidic and play behind Pedro, but otherwise you're playing Mendiola or Jaime VIllareal at center midfield or perhaps Gio moves back and you play McInerney up top.
Is mendiola dead? No appearances this year right? Of all our youngins he's one I had the most hope for this season. Jones' injury serves us right for letting him play on with an obvious concussion. Should have been subbed then.
It would be that kind of laugh you give as they tighten the straps on the straight jacket and roll you into the white room with padded walls.....
How could you know that it was a concussion? Also, he didn't play on after the injury, he called for a sub and went down as soon as he came back on the field. So I don't get how that serves us right? It's not like his aborted attempt at playing on aggravated his knee.
So we're back to hoping our number 8 gets sidelined with injury? Party like its 2016 y'all! Sucks for Jones, frankly. I mean, the best case scenario, really, is him playing well for us as in a defined role in CM.
From my seat I thought that he played on after having the ball hit him in the head and then, seperately, moments later, hurt his knee. Just checked the replay and now see he hurt his knee at same moment as being hit by ball. My mistake.
Start dancing then. He had the same diagnosis last year at Colorado was supposed to be out 2 to 4 weeks and missed 4 months.
So who gets the armband now. If JVD, then it will be his team. Is there a JJJ faction that would resent that? If Gio, it must mean JVD is really in Curt's doghouse. Which would not be a good sign given that JVD was our best defender last year and has the potential to be that this year if he can play with discipline.
Of course this is from the same group that minimized Lletget's injury. I have no faith in anything they say.
Additional thought. If our genius coach also leaves JVD on the bench that introduces another variable and destroys the test.
His first MCL (2016) absence lasted almost 4 months. Now 6 weeks into a 3-4 week injury layoff perhaps JJ is looking for a post soccer career? First a pundit on the US v Mexico match and now more sponsorship deals. Never back down from a fight. @BeatsByDre #BEHEARD pic.twitter.com/2b8U2Fej3r— Jermaine Jones (@Jermainejunior) June 25, 2017
