Wow did anyone else see the look on Bob's face. He was actually showing emotion. And that emotion looked like fear...
howard - awful game lichaj - awful game cherundolo - BIG loss in the back dempsey - apart from nice assist, pretty poor game jones - decent game but made some critical errors bradley - poor game apart from goal donovan - mediocre ...... actually nobody really had a good game overall except for adu. boca played okay.
We're just going to be hoofing it into box at the end anyway. Better to have another 6-footer in there than a liliputian.
US defense has been dreadful, but this might be the best Mexico team they've had in a while, at least on the attacking end. We've created multiple chances, just not clinical enough.
He didn't refuse. Also maybe someone can answer this for me but I can't remember but if it is a FIFA sanctioned event I thought clubs can't block players from going with their national teams (i.e. Gold Cup, World Cup Qualifying, etc.). Also would have prefered Chad Marshall to have been called up if we aren't going to use Gooch then we could have put him in and moved Boca outside. I do understand not putting in Gooch because he hasn't really played meaningful minutes since his injury so form would be a big question.
Lettuce be real tea: He's been our savior more times than I care to count. There has not been a better, more consistent player in the history of the United States, Bill.
That was the biggest disappointment. If anyone should take a massive amount of blame it is Tim Howard. He was horrible and really made some poor, poor attempts at saves.
Every time Howard has the ball the Mexicans shout "Pluuuuuuuto!" (= Goofy, the Disney character, they call him that because he's tall and dark). The problem is that Tim thinks they're calling him "Puuuuto!" (= whore). And he gets upset.
