http://blog.imgacademies.com/2012/07/02/img-academy-to-host-two-usl-matches-this-month/ The doubleheader between the Los Angeles Blues and Antigua Barracuda FC, originally scheduled as Antigua home games, have been moved to IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton. An interesting development. I know Antigua has some cricket coming up, but who knows why they did this. This could be a sign of trouble for Antigua. Tickets are $10 each, free parking.
The bigger question on everyone's mind is whether the attendance will still be a big round number like 1,000 or 800.....
Antigua's national team trained at IMG ahead of their first two qualifiers. Their federation footed the bill because they believed they had a chance to possibly advance to the hex. This may have sprung out of that relationship (in part, at least). A&B's next two qualifiers aren't until September (along with everybody else's), but perhaps their national team is going to go back to IMG in the runup to those (seems a bit far out, eight weeks). Nothing in the Antigua Observer about the shift.
