Most likely very true but one can dream can't they? I'm still not buying season tickets until Hauptman is gone.
how much would he cost? and would he really be a huge boom for the Fire? are Polish-Americans in Chicago that big fans of his? Heck they should be going for Lewandowski next summer with like a $20 million a year offer.
Lewandowski would be incredible but that's never going to happen (maybe at the tail end of his career) and yes Polish-Americans in Chicago are big fans of Kuba.
Well, he cost about Wolsfburg 5 million Euro in summer, 2016 and signed a 3-year contract. I would assume Wolfsburg would let him go for less than that now, since he would only have one year remaining. If the Fire sign him, I suspect it would be for an August start date, after the end of the Bundesliga season and after the World Cup. I also suspect that they would want Wolfsburg to release him (or let him go for very little), as opposed to paying much of a transfer fee. When the rumors were swirling around him last summer, many Polish fans were very excited. As Lewandowski, he would have no reason to come to MLS, regardless of cost. He is still a top striker in the world. He is a good four years away from wanting to come to MLS (2018 World Cup, 2020 Euro, 2022 World Cup qualifying). The only way he comes to MLS is if Poland fails to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, or he is injured and will never recover his form. The problem is that he would be 33-34 by then.
how many Polish American fans of the Fire are they? So you confirm Kuba being signed would make a huge difference for the Fire? why doesn't the Fire try for other standouts in the Polish league? like some youth talent or so
A lot, at least there used to be a lot (when the Fire were good) As for "confirm" that makes no sense. Confirm means to establish the truth of something. One cannot confirm something that has not happened. He is a very talented player, so OF COURSE he would make a huge difference. If you mean within the Polish fan base, it can be presumed, but cannot be confirmed. See the answer above.
If it happens it will be with a NEW owner, like I said no way Andi pulls the trigger on this. MLS helped out with Bastian, I don't think they will with Kuba
I am hoping to get him and keep Schweinsteiger. I apologize to all the people I made spit out whatever they were drinking or laugh so hard they pissed themselves, or both.
If we were Atlanta, this would be happening. It's put up or shut up (GTFO) time for Hauptman. He's got everything on a silver platter right now, just needs to sign the checks.
Even if it's just cheap hooch, I'm sure it cost more than what he's willing to spend for a true DP. #DollarTreeDrew #MoochOfMLS
Editorial-speak. Calling him "cheap" in reference to his spending on p!ayer acquisitions is akin to making death threats, remember?
Boruc is a bit long in the tooth at 37 or 38. That said, he is still playing at a high level. Szczesny is probably too young to come to MLS. Also, he was recently sold to and signed a lucrative deal with Juventes, right? That being said, I would be happy with either.
Yeah I'm surprised the Fire didn't go for him this past season since Sean Johnson moved on. Some decent Polish players. Some are a tad expensive, but some can be had for somewhat 300-400 K. Maybe 500-800 K. I'm amazed Nikolic is paid nearly $2 million though. He must have 1 heck of an agent
Not to knock on him, but he's played in what Hungary/Poland/USA? it'd be more convincing if he was top scorer in even the 2nd divisions of Germany or England.
