    4-4-2 (At Full Strength)

    --------------------------Lee Dong Guk-----------------------------
    ---------------------Park Chu Young--------------------------------
----Park Ji Sung---------Lee Kwan Woo----------Seol Ki Hyeon--------
    ---------------------------Kim Nam Il-------------------------------
----Lee Young Pyo---Kim Dong Jin----Kim Jin Kyu----Song Chong Gug--
    --------------------------Kim Yong Dae------------------------------

Listen up, I know y'all probably be like woah woah wait a minute. The scrawny a$$ Park Chu Young as Shadow??? But the truth is, this squad right there is enough for any team in Asia. Most importantly, it has balance of skill, strength, stamina, creativity and finishing. For outside asian opponents, I would take out Park Chu Young and put Jung Jo guk/Cho Jae Jin. You know why? Park Chu Young has a great sense of teammates surrounding him, he knows where his teammates will position and anticipates that well. He's a good pouncer and if he sees an opportunity he will take it, if not he will feed the ball to the nearest person who has the best shot at taking the goal. Just admit it, he might be weak but he has changed Korea's game a lot of times around. You don't need that much power and strength, Lee Dong Guk is already more than enough with Seol Ki Hyeon there. Park Chu Young at full confidence is unstoppable and most importantly can finish.

I didn't put Kim Du Hyeon because he's better off as a sub with firepower being needed towards the 2nd half to get things going again. Lee Kwan Woo is such a creative player with the ability to finish that Korea desparately needs NOW.

All in all, what I see in this line up is pure creativity and finishing skills.

Seol Ki Hyeon - He can finish, has the ability to beat his man.
Park Ji Sung - Very good off the ball runner, creator of space and creative in passes.
Lee Kwan Woo - Need I say more?
Kim Nam Il - Good vision & no nonsense stopper
Park Chu Young - He can finish better than JJG and/or JJJ
Lee Dong Guk - Multi-talented striker.
Lee Young Pyo - Best Left sided midfielder Korea ever had.
Kim Dong Jin - Physical and naturally left footed + attack oriented defender
Kim Jin Kyu - Physical and good shot
Song Chung Gug - Very nice crosser of the ball.

Indirect freekicks - Lee Kwan Woo
Direct freekicks - Park Chu Young / Seol Ki Hyeon / Kim Jin Kyu (for long dist.)
Corners - Lee Kwan Woo / Park Ji Sung
Penalties - Lee Dong Guk, Lee Dong Guk, Lee Dong Guk

P.S. This line up has never been tried before, PCY has never been tested at that position properly. I'd reckon Pim quickly gets his head straight before it's too late and filter out WHAT EXACTLY he wants in his game, because Korea has got the most multi-skilled player pool in Asia. He needs to narrow that down and concentrate on what type of game to bring to the table. The one above is the result of filtering out the multi-skilled players and have a natural gift in their roles.

    What's yours?

    -----------------Lee Dong Guk-----Ahn Jung Hwan-------------------

    ---------------------------Kim Nam Il--------------------------------
----Lee Young Pyo---Kim Dong Jin----Kim Jin Kyu----Song Chong Gug--
    --------------------------Lee Woon Jae------------------------------

It's unlikely that Ahn will make it but I can still dream. In his place I'd put Jung Jo Guk. Defence is still shaky except Lee YP but I can't think of anyone better.

    Im all for this.

Ive definitely fallen off the Kim Young Kwang bandwagon though. I question his judgment/brashness sometimes. Lee Won Jae is much more consistent and level-headed.

i'm not so sure if Kim Du Heyon can play defense. WE'd all love to use him with his shot and free kick ability, but he falls behind on defense, and his distribution of the ball from that spot is questionable.

I'm not too crazy about Lee Ho and his distribution of ball consists of him going back to Kim Jin Kyu or Kim Nam Il, but he's the best option we got as a holding midfielder at that spot. Either him or Kim Jung Woo.

as far as our goalie problem goes... i just dont have an answer

Lee Ho is turning out to be a liability.

He's got heart but thats about it. Reminds me of Cha a lot. Just puts his head down and follows the ball around.

Because of a political outlook by our technical staff, disagreement between technical staff and coach, and for other reasons, Korea's best players seem to ride the bench, or get cut from the national squad - and its been happening for the past 20 years. If you don't believe me, ask Kim Hyun-seok, Kim Dae-ui, Woo Sung-yong, Yoon Jung-hwan, Lee Gwan-woo and younger promising players like Moon Min-gwi, Kim Hyung-bum, Bae Gi-jong, ect. These are the guys that make a difference, week in and week out but in the glorious name of "potential" KNT always pick up rag-tag players like Kim Nam-il, Song Jong-guk, Park Ji-sung, ect. It's great if these players can pick it up and step up to the next level, as they did, but since when was KNT another name for Youth Development? Of course, there were failures like Lee Ho, Kim Dong-jin, ect. Some KNT members have been riding this preferential treatment wave for too long, and I think some of us, already know who they are. It is my strongest belief that players should be judged on current ability, displayed on the K-League pitch, rather than selecting players because they've been through the "KFA Elite Program" from U-16, U-17, U-19, U-23. In that respect, why is Park Ju-young and not Kim Eun-joong on the KNT?

Edit - Another rant: I think its misleading to equate some foreigner's opinion on a player as the final and undisputable level of a player. It's really sad, actually. Why? because maybe that foreigner likes fast players. Maybe that's his style. It's just an opinion....although there's nothing I can really do about it.
