Sunderland on Saturday will be difficult, says Swansea City midfielder Ki Sung-yueng. https://t.co/CwVzhwlHVl pic.twitter.com/sGIRLqMseO— BBC Sport Wales (@BBCSportWales) May 10, 2017
Here's how we will line up against @SunderlandAFC this afternoon... 💪#SUNSWA pic.twitter.com/AePKWPyTfA— Swansea City AFC (@SwansOfficial) May 13, 2017
ki sungyong is taking awfully long time to recover his form. he used to be the type to benefit more from the time off than he would hinder from the injury
Very nice assist threading the needle but Naughton did the hard work smashing it home from a relatively tight angle. Still a great killer pass from Ki who has looked solid if not spectacular.
if he wants to continue playing at a top league where would he go? hes not exactly a hot commodity right now. he also probably wants to quit the national team as soon as this cycle is over. he would have to decide if can retire gracefully while playing in china/middleast without fans giving him shit
Thanks to Sunderland (giving up against Swansea while dragging Hull to defeat), the relegation battle ended up a bit anti-climatic as Hull lost to CP 3-0. Swansea and CP are safe while Hull goes down.
He'll stay as long as Swansea are in PL and he's wanted. Hasn't earned a move anywhere based on this last season, although it was due to injury as well.
If Ki is ready to go down to a lower league, I think he would choose the A-league. He's been to Australia, speaks English, and may be an overall better destination/residence for his family.
I just dont see any plausible scenario where this happens. the K league or MLS is most likely, in my opinion. he's too proud of himself to go to China/ME.
That is why I suspect that he would choose the A-league, not CSL or Mid-east leagues. As for MLS, I'm not sure if any team is interested in signing a Korean midfielder, nor if Ki fits the playing style of the league (esp. given his age and career phase). Though not impossible, I have a hard time imagining an MLS team singing KSY over a big-name European/South American retiree.
I'm not sure he's got the legs to start another adventure. Hasn't looked 100% this season even vs normal Ki work rate levels.
I don't think KSY will end up China. 1. The new foreign player quota (3 foreigners maximum for matchday squad) will likely put Ki out of matchday squad. 2. He probably won't want to end his career by watching footie from his home. In China of all places too.
