The rematch. Lineups will look completely different, as all the international callups will be back. This is the last home game of the regular season. It's a must win if we want any say in the playoffs.
Only 2 games left and we can still win the division....or miss the playoffs entirely. Wild. Unrelated to our game, I sure do hope LA gets the spoon. I don't really have as strong of a dislike of them as a lot of people, bus what a magnificent fall from grace this season has been. Would certainly get a good chuckle out of it. And what timing with LA2 next year.
We won the cup. We won the cup. We won the cup. I'm just saying that this close of season is really starting to feel like that would be good to remember.
What needs to happen in order to miss the playoffs entirely: 1) We lose out 2) Portland gets at least one point out of DCU and Vancouver 3) Seattle gets at least one point out of Colorado 4) At least two teams out of Dallas, RSL, or SJE win out According to my Monte Carlo Estimator, that has about a 0.4% chance of happening.
Yeah, there is a lot of stuff going on that numbers can't take into consideration. In our current form and without Melia, I could absolutely see us losing out. Portland and Seattle picking up one point a piece in the next two games is borderline trivial. In Dallas' current form there is no way they are winning out, but SJE and RSL? Could happen. Still, that's about 7-8 results that have to go specific ways, and that's a slim chance in any league no matter what the odds. Outside of that, we're just being overly cynical due to frustration over the last week of soccer. I don't think we really have to worry about not making the playoffs altogether, but I am very worried about finishing top two/four at this point. Sunday against Houston is a game we absolutely must win. With Feilhaber, Zusi, and Besler back and with Zendejas presumably in net, I think we can do it. Play like we have been in the first half, make sure we don't start falling asleep in the second half, shoot the ball when we have it in the box, and for God's sake a clean sheet would be nice.
Well us losing out would mean RSL beating us, leaving them to just beat Colorado to win out. SJ in Vancouver though isn't going to be easy.
Yup; likewise, Dallas is playing Seattle. If Seattle doesn't lose to Dallas (expected), then that satisfies Seattle's point, if Dallas beats Seattle (unexpected), then Dallas is just one win away from winning out and Seattle's other game (Colorado) could still put Seattle over us as well. And what's more, in the unlikely event that Seattle or Portland loses out, then all three of DAL, SJE, and RSL winning out would also eliminate us. This all gets a lot easier if we just win on Sunday. Do that, and we finish top 4 no matter what.
What are the odds that Sporting goes on the road for the play in game? I feel like that's the more relevant question.
Well, we didn't lose and Dykstra didn't give up a goal. Otherwise, just more unrealized promise and wasted energy. I sure hope Ike is okay.
Well, we won't lose the play in game on the road this year. So we got that going for us, which is nice. Edit: wait no I'm am idiot, we have not even guaranteed that yet. So..huzzah
5th worst offense by goals, 2nd best offense by shots. toronto has more than 100 fewer shots and almost double our goals. I guess I still prefer it to an offense that can't even create any exciting moments, but for the coming season, the dwyer money has to be spent on a clinical finisher also lobato with by far his best game out of position, super weird
If the playoffs started right now, SKC would play a 2 game knockout series against....................Houston
