Both Russell and Gutierrez are not afraid to shoot, that's good. Of course, other than the actual goal, the shots have been easily blocked or caught, but at least they are pulling the trigger.

    Looks like a 4-1-4-1

    ------------------ Shelton --------------------
    Salloi - Gutierrez - Espinoza - Russell
    --------------------- Ilie ------------------------

Shelton's on an island and now that the tempo has dropped, he's not getting the ball much.

Salloi to Russell! What a pass, what a shot!

Salloi 100% should be starting, and Shelton looks a lot more useful than Rubio. Russell is dangerous and was involved in both goals. Gutierrez is looking like the new Feilhaber. Hard to see where Croizet fits in at this point.

1st half: 8 shots, 4 on target, 2 goals. That's more like it!

The shot was great aggression but that pass was something special. He was so calm Took his time and allowed the play to develop, The German announcers who’d began wanting to praise Schweine but noted only SKC seems to have a clue went crazy over the pass

60 minutes in - Chicago with the majority of possession, probably by design. We are sitting back, looking for the counter. But we might want to make a sub or something because the Fire are knocking at the door and we need to take a little more control of this thing.

EDIT: wait, Gerso is on? I totally missed that. I saw Shelton down but didn't see him get subbed. Gerso hasn't done much yet.

BTW, does anyone else think Solignac looks like Feilhaber?

Seth looks to be ok, but bringing Medranda on is a good move. Need a little more energy on that side right now.

And as I type that, Schweinsteiger blows right by him and puts a pretty ball in for a Chicago goal. That was a combination of bad defending and Basti skill.

Nice counter attack from Gerso and Gutierrez, pretty dang close to a 3rd.

Maybe don't leave Nikolic alone without a body on him in the middle of the 6 yard box on a corner??

Roger has not been good this half. Slow, bad passes, not stepping up. Maybe Croizet needs to sub in.

CRAP CRAP CRAP!!! WHY IS NO ONE PICKING UP NIKOLIC IN THE BOX?!?!?!

Well, good ball in by Roger so never mind what I said earlier, and good on Medranda for following up and making a shot on goal and not into the stands. Now if the defense can just stop crapping the bed maybe we can get out of here with a point.

THAT GOAL! Russell with the driving, no-hold-barred run straight into the box, Salloi with the fantastic little back heel, and Gutierrez with the no-mistake placement. Who are these guys?

Salloi and Russell are both making statements this game.

Ilie walking a thin line on some of these fouls, he might get his 2nd yellow if he's not careful...

That should have been 5. Gerso makes a lot of dumb decisions sometimes.

Besler, you have got to be kidding me. You are smarter than that, to foul Schweinsteiger at that moment at that spot.

    WHEW.

New look Sporting, great offense, crazy goal sequences, lousy defense, heart-stopping action. Who are these guys!?
