This will be a very busy December, busier than usual as there are 5 weekend dates for the month and Serie A will not take its usual Christmas break, playing through the holiday instead. Add the final group match for the Champions League and a Coppa Italia match on top of that, there is no time during the month to sit back and relax for the club. We go against our most direct opponents for the scudetto starting with league leader Napoli followed by Inter and then Roma just before Christmas. The important CL match against Olympiakos is squeezed in between Napoli & Inter. For our team, this is probably good as the players are at their best when fully focussed and there is no reason for complacency. We get the winner between Genoa & Crotone who play each other on Wednesday. So not only a busy but a big month that will tell us where we are heading come March. Serie A 1 Dec - at Napoli 9 Dec - Internazionale 17 Dec - at Bologna 23 Dec - Roma 30 Dec - at Verona Champions League 5 Dec - Olympiakos - : -Juventus Juventus Coppa Italia 20 Dec - TBD
LOT'S of tough fixtures crowded in there. Doesn't the league take the CL into account when they set up the league schedule? Or....was THAT the point here?
Well this Napoli game is where we show our true self. We have yet to beat a good team and have a good game this season that shows we are a real contender. Beating this Napoli in their home will be real tough, but this is what champions are made of. If we do beat them i will really start believing in this team.
I don't believe that we have to beat Napoli for me to start feeling better about the season. If we come away with a draw at the San Paolo in which we actually play well I'll be satisfied. Of course, my preference is a win!
The next 3 games will tell us a lot about how our season is going to go. The middle one in particular.
Well we need to do something to show we are real this season. So far we haven’t. Sadly seeing how Allegri is, he is probably playing for a boring draw like the Barca game. I would be surprised if he pushes for a win
For the Napoli game... Lichtsteiner is out, Cuadrado and Bernardeschi have trained and both are available, Higuain is wait and see, he wants to play.
Well that was his position at Palermo. I am sure he will be able to do well. The question though is who we play behind him? Bernardeschi maybe?
Not so sure. Olympiakos is a deciding game while Napoli is not. Will Max park the bus and try to hit them on the break with a trio of Costa, Dybala and Cuadrado?
I honestly don't see the risk though. Higuain's injury is with his hand. The chances of his hand getting injured is quite slim.
If he falls on it not true. That is supposedly why he had the surgery. And the douches in Naples will be out to get him.
Max is playing mind games with Saari Hes gonna do a 352 with dybala Higuain up top Mds Sandro on wings
