He scores spectacularly on occasion, but the occasions aren't that often. He has only scored 7 goals in 54 league matches for Greuther (at least according to Wikipedia).
Yep. Been said before. (see the brilliance of post 3145... lol) One of the best long range shots of any USMNT ever. Wish he'd use it more. Hope he has a (re)breakout year.
actually 8 goals and 4 assists in 55 games for Furth in 2BL and 9 goals and 4 assists in 65 2BL games. Pretty poor numbers for an attacker. outside of that goal he wasn't really great in the game. Even matchday 1 wasn't too great for him.

It's like been his strength forever. All these coaches trying to play him as some sort of midfielder need to quit
Three reasons why the don't: he's small, slim and fairly slow. Guys like that need space to be effective. Add the fact that he's got decent passing, and Furth are going to play him deeper where he can have the most (beneficial) impact.
yeah he's had a bit of the "nagbe-itis" in recent appearances with USMNT (i'm assuming b/c possession was emphasized by coaches)....which is obviously no bueno..... He needs to attack without hesitation and SHOOT....got a good outside shot.....this whole backpassing at the midfield stripe and holding the ball up on counters just to squander the numbers part of his game needs to go..... I'm assuming it all comes down to instructions and coaching...which in thoery can be easily addressed....needs carte blanche to "try sh#*"
He does have among the better long-shots for USMNT players, but does not take it often enough. He's an odd player. Can look really good, can score some key goals and go invisible for loooooong stretches.
And, tbf, 80% of most "better" players - that's why the ones that do it day-in and day-out at a top level are so in demand.
Green is a player who tends to look better when the rival is strong. He needs open spaces, so when the rival in front is weak and bunkers, he's quite useless. He looked better, even scoring one each, against Regensburg (#8 last season) and St. Pauli (#9), two clubs stronger than Fürth (#13), than he did in the game they lost at home to Aue (#14). Fürth had 62% possession in that last game, while in the other two they had 40% (St. Pauli) and 44% (Regensburg). Green can be an asset in a counter. But to penetrate a bunker, he lacks the physical tools to keep the ball.
