This guy is beginning to emerge as a legit option for our NT. At age 21, he has a ton of room to grow and all the skills necessary to be a top class CB. He is getting attention from multiple Premier League clubs and has what seems to be a very high ceiling.

Oh, and he scored a MASSIVE goal today. Time for his own thread.

The gamble paid off. I didn't think it would work, but props to both Brooks for stepping up and Klinsmann for that inspired selection.

If we're talking club play, let him grow in Germany for a year or two. For the USMNT, he's a legit option and Klinsmann has a tough decision to pick between him and Besler. Not sure he can go wrong though.

Klinsmann took a chance that the light would click on for this guy at the right time and it has. I na couple of months he's probably going to take one of those center back spots and hold it for 10 years.

I always thought he deserved to be on this roster. He's quality. 21 yr-old starter in one of the top leagues in the world.

    Now he's a LEGEND!

No result yet, I guess. I just find it hilarious that FIFA calls it random

I love the delayed reaction in realizing he might have just scored the winner in his WC debut. Ok John.. umm.. what.. umm I'm going to lay down right here!

Sky's the limit 21 years old in a position of need for the team, could be big for us for many years to come.

i was scared when he came on, but he really only had one scary moment. and that goal, i mean, at the very least it saved our world cup. legend.
on the postgame there are a few calls for him to keep beslers spot, here seems a fine place to say i look at it like olympic scoring- drop his lowest (ukraine friendly) and highest (today) scores. hes got a world of potential, i feel more comfortable with him all the time, but beslers the starter. brooks, though, looks like a damn good future.

The best of all worlds would eventually be Besler and Brooks in the middle, Cameron on the right with Johnson moving to right mid. FB is a waste at right back considering what an offensive threat he's proven to be. Besler is solid and has been solid. He's made a couple of mistakes lately but nothing that's cost us a game. Or put him out on the right with Cameron in the middle, but FB needs to be free to attack.

How many of Manziel's TD passes will be replayed in at least 60 different countries in one night?

Did anyone hear his interview with Jeremy Schaap saying he told his teammates yesterday that he had a dream that he scored in the 88th minute? Legendary dream.

Thank God the USA has so many military bases in Germany. I don't know where'd we'd be without the performances of the German-Americans on this team. Brooks has already started his legend. May there be many more years of greatness from him in a USA jersey.

I wanted Brooks over Besler since Turkey. His only bad outing for us was when he was with Gooch, as it is now I am putting that on Gooch.

    Hopes he starts against Portugal.
