On the domestic league, they haven't enjoyed much success either. Explaining Porto's victories by HH's presence, and the lack of success by his absence sounds a bit like provincial thinking to me. The team doesn't revolve around the "Mexican HH". In fact, Porto has been suffereing from internal turnoil between the coach and some players. I am today's loss has a lot more to do with that than the fact that "cara de nopal HH" wasn't on the roster.

Coach wants a new rightback

 

Erick Aguirre - Pachuca
Gerardo Arteaga - Santos Laguna
Jorge Sanchez - America

All young but experienced options. Sanchez has tons of European potential imo because of his physical attributes. Aguirre is the perfect squad player imo. Won't amaze you every moment but always does a great steady job. Arteaga has amazing flashes but also major screw ups imo.

Jose Abella - Santos Laguna
Chaka Rodriguez - Tigres

Both in their primes, tons of experience and championship pedigree. Honestly Chaka reminds me of Maxi Pereira type player.

Hopefully Porto keeps scouting in Mexico and picks one of these players up.

 

Not sure Chaka is euro material tbh. Erick Aguirre has also plateaued for a few years now.
