Jesse Gonzalez is a 20 year old second-generation Mexican American who has strong cultural ties to Mexico and loves the national team. He is also killing it right now in the MLS playoffs and has played for us at the u20 level.

The USMNT plays random second-tier German guys whose moms happened to hook up with US servicemen. These guys would be playing for Germany if they were any good.

 

This guy has played and plays for Mexico NT. It's not like we're trying to poach him from the gringos. He already plays for our U-20 so it makes sense to follow his progress.

Great to see bigger keepers making their way. Seems like we've always had shorter keepers.
