Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Even if Inamotos in a middle table club, I think he's settled. But yeah to play regularly, he shoulld go back to the J League. But if he ever does that it means neverending fangirl stalkers following him around and mobbing him. I think he likes it in Europe because they don't faint at the sight of him, he feels more independent and he enjoys the quiet life. I always think Inamoto's choices are interesting, its amazing that he is still in Europe and its amazing that he's still so persistant, I mean his nearly 30 for goodness sakes.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] HAHAHAH, I like Nakata, but I got to agree, he is the Beckham of Japan but smarter. I think he's more of a fashion whore than Beckham.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Becksy relies on Posh for his fashion sense and media profile I think -- Nakata has done it all on his own. Opening his own shops in Japan to sell his team jerseys was a brilliant move. This week in Bundesliga, Hasebe played all game in a 4-1 win for Wolfsburg. Ina and Shinji didn't get any time: Frankfurt lost and Bochum drew. Keisuke Honda scored the winner yesterday for VVVs' quest to get back in the top flight. They're doing quite well in that quest too. Apparantly Hondas been storming through the opposition (he had a double last week as well.) I wouldn't expect any less, but it's still good news to see he's at the center of their campaign. Shunsuke was rested for Tuesdays' match against ManU. St. Etienne plays later today.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Matsui finally gets some time, subbed in at 74m a goal down... he put in a late cross that Gomis sent straight at the keeper. His rival, Dernis, appeared to have a really good match too. So I suspect we'll see him remain just an impact sub.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Nakamura starts for Celtic in CL against ManU, and gets subbed out for Maloney at 63m. It's pretty much been a junk game... Celtic has to have the worst fullbacks in the competition. And playing 3 CBs... one as a pseudo midfielder... with 2 more holding midfielders... it's terrible. edit: and now that Naka is off they can't even hold possession for 10 seconds. This is really really poor. I expected them to be outclassed, but they look like an amateur club out there. Even Boruc is having a howler.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Ina and Frankfurt will play tonight against Karlsruhe. It's a game from a earlier gameday. MADONNA-FANS RUINED THE PITCH!
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Nakamura can't do everything alone, he plays with incompetent players i'm afraid ( at least on international level) . After watching Celtics last games i'm not sure he can accomplish anything more over there.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] I think at least for that game that all the injuries in the team took their toll. They were missing their 2 big center forwards and Crosas (who I think is the next best talent there). And the formation was ridiculously negative... 4 at the back and 3 DMs directly in front of them. And then they'd woefully attempt to punt long balls up to McDonald, Nakamura, and McGeady... none of those guys are ever going to be ball-winners in the air. Anyway I'm beginning to agree on the last point. I'm kind of wishing Mizuno had went to an Eredivisie club instead too.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Gap in quality between Celtic and United was shocking. Nakamura must come home immediately otherwise he will stoop down to their level.

Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] And this story has bubbled up how many times previously? Believe it when you see him in competition wearing a J-League club's jersey.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] I think it's true as previously Lawwell and Strachan blew the stories off, whereas at the beginning of the season they did the "we really need him and will keep him as long as possible", "Lawwell begs Naka to stay", etc. that always means they're about to leave. Plus we've got a commissioner verifying the story. I think he leaves in the Winter, especially since Celtic will not be in the Champions League.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] i think its in the balance whether he leaves in January or the summer but i'm at pains to work out in what way this is begging, Peter Lawwell, the Celtic chief executive, will try to convince him to see out the current campaign and negotiations on his future are continuing with his agent, Roberto Tsakuda. "Celtic would be more than happy for Shunsuke to stay here for as long as he wants and certainly we want him to remain here until the end of the season," Lawwell said. "But his agent has intimated Shunsuke would like to return to Japan at some point." either way, when he leaves, i wish him all the best and thank him for all his efforts and wonderful memories he's given me and many others. Newcastle lost their first three matches and still qualified out of a group. we have two games at home and an away match in Aalborg. it ain't over yet.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Looks like Inamoto played a great game for Frankfurt, including an assist and several shots, to come back and win 3-2. Unfortunately Wolfsburg let Bayern back in and lost after Hasebe was subbed out. I thought he did a decent job of shadowing Ribery up til then. And Naka subbed off for Aiden in Celtics game, currently tied 2-2.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] Anybody got a list of all Japanese players abroad? Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 [R] It was a very obscure transfer at some point and I wasn't sure myself until I checked their website again ... couldn't remember his name for awhile either.
